For that you have to uninstall all usb drivers from computer then it automatic installed.
Right click on my computer icon then click on property then click on hardware then device manager.
In device manager you can see all driver list.Go to usb controllers then uninstall all usb driver 1 by 1 when you right click on usb driver click on uninstall.
Then restart computer then check.
If still face same issue then right click on my computer icon then click on manage then go to disk management
Then removable storage check you find there your drive if you find then explorer it.
Also check in bios that USB Legacy 2.0 is enabled.

Move HD from Dimension 4300 into Dimension 4700 / XP HomeED both.

You can change the hard drive, but it will create major driver issues.
You will have to let the computer tell you which drivers are missing and go back and download them from the manufacturers website or use the software that you have.
You cannot damage the hdd doing this.

The easy way to do this would be to install this as a secondary hdd, this would allow for more storage and less problems.

Hi, i am trying to set up a Western Digital My Book World Edition on my iMac. The iMac recognises the installation disc but I am unable to open it on the mac. I have looked on the WD website for downloads...

Try a complete uninstall and reinstall. Also double check to see that it is compatible to your Mac. It proboably is, but check anyways just in case. Stuff like this is more commonly overlooked than you think.

I have a Philips portable HDD storage device. The model is no longer on the official site (SPD5200CC/96K). No laptops are able to detect it anymore and i haven't used it in a while. I need to transfer all...

try to see if there's a way for you to open the enclosure..where the 2.5 inch hard drive is contained. and get an adapter for the interface so you can use the ide interface (instead of the usb interface) and plugged it into a desktop ide cable and possibly be able to access the hard drive..

one thing you need to keep in mind is that if you happent to be trying to open the enclusure (assuming that what you have is in fact a niceh little enclusure) you may end up opening the platter casing of the your hard drive which will damage the hard drive for good.. so make sure you get inside but not much to see the platter... again.. I'm assuming your device is in fact an enclusure for your 2.5 hard drive.

keep in mind that if you get the hard drive out and it still does not get detected after you plugged into a a regular desktop ide cable... you hard drive is the one that may have been damaged all along... and time and money may have been wasted...

good luck

You need to install the WD Drive Manager utility and drivers that are on the CD.

If you don't have them, download it here

Master hard disk s,m,a.r.t.status bad, backup and replace

A failure message from the SMART system of this nature indicates that a catastrophic hard drive failure could be imminent. Without delay, back up ANY data you want to keep. This error isn't going to go away, and is being reported by the drive controller.

Whilever you can access the drive, move any data you want onto another media (such as DVD or external USB hard drive) because chances are it's not going to work much longer. You need to look at buying a new hard drive as soon as you possibly can, and migrating the data to it.

Files and Settings Transfer Wizard will be able to backup your data to another media.

REINSTALL XP HOME EDITION ON Compaq Presario SR1350NX Desktop PC

Files copy errors during the XP installation process are often an indication of BAD RAM.

If you have dual RAM modules, try install with 1 memory module installed
