This is a common problem and happens a lot. it is usually a flaw in the element that eventually burn a a hole right through it, and renders the element inoperative. They are relatively inexpensive to replace.

Induction cooker are display E6 error

I did exactly the same thing as "Carol Johansson" did to fix her "Electrolux" induction cooktop.
My "Omega" induction cooktop was intermittently (more often than not) coming up with error E6 problems on two of the four elements, after a power reset it started to do it on all 4 elements.(Now the Boss was not happy)
I pulled it all apart taking photos of every stage of dismantling, makes it a lot easier to put it all back together.
The main power supply board which supplies the other two boards has about six electrolytic capacitors, two of them where bulging, (curved on the top instead of being flat). They where the 470uF 25V ones, I replaced them with 470uF 35V ones from Jaycar for $2.80.
Put it all back together and we can eat tonight, Boss is happy!!
Hope this helps and thanks to Carol for pointing me in the right direction.

Why is my oven not heating up?

My guess is the heating element has gone. Get online and search your domestic appliance web sites quoting the make / model / serial number etc and see what element is needed. If you are capable of good DIY and know how to isolate the cooker then its not a big job to replace. I've googled your model and the elements are readily available. You don't say where you are but the elements are readily available in UK for between 20 and 30$. I had a similar problem with my double oven and found a suitable height table, covered in news paper, slid the oven out of the unit, changed the element, all done in under an hour. If yours is under worktop then slide onto a piece of board on blocks.

On light comes on but burners don't get hot.

Dear friend,

sounds like your problem could be either burnt out element or wire to the element or both. I am qualified in saying this as i am an electrician & have experienced these problems many times in my busness.

Cheers

The main burner (left front) only heats on half the circle.

Your referring to an electric range I'm assuming. In that case the heating element is only heating to a mid-point then stopping. This typically means the heating element is burnt or is partially burned out. The element is usually user replaceable and requires the old one be unpluggude and replaced with a new one. You'll need to get the element from the manufacturer.

All 4 elements suddenly won't heat--worked fine this am. Circuit breaker was tripped. Reset, now lights on knobs come on, but still no heating.

Likely a short in the junction box. Turn off the breaker and open the junction box for inspection. Problem is likely at the cooktop end of the feed from the breaker.

Check voltage at the junction. Should one side of the corcuit be dead, turn off power and call an electrician as the wiring probably has had a short due to staple or nail penetration and would be a fir hazard. Call an electrician if this is the case.

ELEMENT ON ELECTRIC COOKER NOT HEATING UP

If it is a single element then either the element has gone open circuit or the switch has.

If all of the elements will not come on then it is the common supply to the switches which has failed

To track it you need someone who knows how to use a multimeter or a voltage tester

Do not poke around inside it yourself as it carries full mains voltage
