Question about KitchenAid Dishwashers

1 Answer

I have a kitchen aid dishwasher that is stuck on the clean cycle. It will drain water, but no water seems to be getting into the washer. If i push the start button, cycle will not start. The clean light is the only light that will stay on. the other lights will go on, but they eventually go off without starting the cycle. Is this the thermal fuse???

SOURCE: MY G892SCUPLUS MIELO DISHWASHER LIGHTS AND CYCLES ARE STUCK.

The rinse aid light means you are out of rinse aid. The salt light means you have to add salt to your built in water softener. If the drain/intake light is on, that is when you have a problem. It will flash when there is a problem. You have to count the flashes and that will tell you what the error is.

It says in the manual to check the heating element.

Kitchen aid dishwasher

The washer is filled up with water because it is at float level. So basically same water to clean again and again. You will have to remove kick panel at the bottom front for access to the pump and drain hose.

I like the way you call the fishies in your washer! Seriously, there are three probable causes. First, pull off the spinner, bottom plate and yank the filter screens. Clean them thoroughly and look for clogs below them. Next, look for the water level sensor that detects water in the bottom and keeps the flush pump running as long as there is. Make sure it cycles up and down. Finally, make sure you hear the pump running when the draining cycle starts...

Water in the bottom drawer

Take a glass and empty as much as possible. Take out the racks and get a towel to soak up the rest.

Take the washer arm out and detach the filter plate collar. Also take out the drain filter and clean everything. You could take the washer rotor out and clean the rotor cavity.

Put everything back and start the dishwasher on fast cycle. If water is still not draining and provided the pump is running, then you have a blockage in the drain hose or the kitchen sink end. If you are using inskerator then make sure it not blocked.

check if some dirt got in the arms of the washer as sometime this will slow the flow of water and not allow the pressure to clean the dishes well

Try adding bicarb of soda/baking soda and vinegar in the detergent dispenser. Bicarb fizzes off hardened particles and vinegar strips off grease and aids rinsing.
