Question about Vacuums

1 Answer

I just accidently vacuumed over a bag, realized what had happened and pulled it out before it got stuck further into the head of my Hoover Wide Path. I shut the machine off, and when I turned it back on the brush won't rotate. Anything I can do?

When I switch it on the plastic compartment which holds the bag starts to be sucked in towards the bag and there is no suction at the end of the hose

Your Hoover U5076 has a clog. Fist unplug the vacuum from the wall socket. Remove the attachement hose from the door on the head, close the door. Remove the screw just below the main bag compartment, with a phillips or flat head screw driver. Be sure not to loose the nut in back. Hold the base down with your foot and pull up on the handle to sperate the two pieces. The lower portion revieled is the exhaust for the dirt from the motor and that is where your clog should be. Use a flat head screw drive to remove what is there so you have a clean path. If there is no clog there check the up portion that you pulled off for a clog, you may need a coat hanger to dislodge the clog. Once the path way is clear you can reassemble the vacuum and it will work fine.

Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. Most of the older Hoover Comm’l type vacuums have a shake our bag with a slide on clamp – so you would keep the clamp & then either the bag usually is wired on @ the bottom of the fill area & would need to re-attach if the outer bag is still in good shape. If not then I suggest that you replace the bag and clamp if needed. include the brand name & model # with your request to either company. Questions? Contact the Hoover website or Hoover cust service @ the info listed below. So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.

Belt replacement Hoover carpet cleaner

Hoover steamvacs don't use belts. If the brushes are not turning, pull the brush block out, turn the machine on and see if the square hole where the brush block was, is turning. If not then the turbine is bad. Sometimes you can take the turbine apart and clean it out. most times I have found , replace it.

I buy loads of Hoovers and always same problem. When I Hoover its a dusty smell and it stays around bag not full and check filter the Hoover is ok f couple days then this happens.

Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. Hoover F5881-900 Vacuum. It sounds to me that if you have a clean bag and filter, it sounds like you have dust in the motor section and it needs to be cleaned and or take a good blower and blow out the dirt or you may have a clog or dirt build up in the suction line and that might be causing the dusty smell. Please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or call the Hoover factory and ask for tech support. So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.

How two tighten belt on wide path foldaway vac

Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure.
There really is no way to tighten the belt, the belt does need to be changed every 4 to 6 months as recommended by the factory manufacturer and to store any extra belts in a Ziploc bag in the refrigerator to keep them fresh. Your belt has stretched and therefore is not cleaning as well as it should, so If you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions. I believe the Widepath is made by the Hoover Co and the phone # and website are listed below if I am correct.
