That sucks, you probably accidentally created too much static electricity and blew a mosfet or other chip that is subsceptible to static electricity. Or if you are lucky you may have just accidentally unplugged some connection or caused some debris to get lodged somewhere where it is shorting or bypassing something. Either way, recheck everything and for any loose connections and/or reblow it out watching and checking crevices that are not easily visible to make sure nothing is getting lodged anywhere that it don't belong.

SOURCE: New Installation P5N32-E SLI

There is also a 4 pin power connector cable for the processor to connect onto the motherboard. Make sure that is plugged in. IF that still doesn't help, disconnect hard drive, video card, cd rom drive and floppy drive and any other pci cards in the system. Try booting it again at least to the bios. See if that helps.

SOURCE: System has been working fine for several years.

Hi,
Are you able to enter into the BIOS settings by pressing DEL?
If so, load default settings in the BIOS and try booting up again.

Best wishes,

My laptop making humming noise when connected to external speakers

if its old or hasnt been cleaned just clean the ventilator and the inside of it , of dust but very gently :) if you have no experience as its a laptop it would be easyer to just get it to a workshop and ask them to clean it for you well the inside of it :P if it would be a PC you could just open the bos up and just clean it from dust but its a laptop so workshop would be alot safer to keep the device up and running :)

MY E-MACHINE MODEL NUMBER T-3985 MAKES ALOT OF NOISE WHEN RUNNING.

If it is a clicking noise, then that means your hard drive is probably starting to go. If it's a humming noise, then it's the system fan that keeps the computer cool. Try cleaning the fan and if that doesn't work, purchase a new one and replace. They are fairly cheap and easy to replace. If the fan stops working, it can cause the computer to heat up and may cause components such as the processor and hard drive to fail.

hi

fan noise means one think, DUST !

or if its past its life cysle (ie: 3-5 years), its time to replace the fan.

you can remove the dust from the fan. If that noise persists, yopu must replace the fan , otherwise your friend will eventually dmage the CPU or mainboard or both.

hope this serves you well

This might be a heating issue. Considering its 6 years old pop open the case and use dust off and spray it down until there isnt any dust left near, in or around the heat sink. try that and if it doesn't work try re-seating the heat sink on the possessor and clean off all the thermal paste and re apply some new thermal paste.

LG EF FF Error

I found another post that suggested the following. Did it and found wires/connections frozen with a huge piece of ice.

Make sure unit is unpluged!

Removed baskets (2), unscrewed back panel of freezer. A little tricky to get out. There will be electrical connections attached to the panel but you can disconnect/reconnect these. Mine were on the top, left corner. I used a blow dryer to melt the ice chunck. Dried up all the water, replaced back, baskets.

I then took the panel off the very back of the unit as the melted ice had drained into the drip pan. I cleaned the drain pan of water, dust. They don't make this an easy task for the homeowner. Replaced the back, plugged it back in and all is working again. Don't know for how long until this happens again. But....no more LG products for this homeowner.

We remodeled the kitchen 2 years ago and went stainless steel. My 16 year old Kitchenaide is still running in the garage. Guess I'll go back to that model when the LG bits the dust.

Loud Fan Noise

Usually the fan on graphic card dies first. It can be replaced with another one but I'd suggest you to build in 80 or 100 mm fan to blow directly on your graphic card cooler. Remove the lid and check if perhaps some cable has fallen close/into fan blade. It must be one of those two. I'm 90% certain.
