Question about Pioneer DEH-1600 CD Player

1 Answer

Pioneer Cassette changer CT-M6r. On initial turn on, tray loads okay, and carriage moves over to correct cassette selected, but won't load cassette, and kicks tray out...carriage tray returns to stationary position. Thereafter, reload tray and kicks out after about two seconds...keeps doing same repeatedly. What goes?

Above is your user manual. Below is your service repair manual.
www.eserviceinfo.com/.../40986/PIONEER_DEH-6,16,1600.html alternate link in case above not working. http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:bgdIpzfenQMJ:www.eserviceinfo.com/downloadsm/40986/PIONEER_DEH-6,16,1600.html+>Pioneer+>DEH-1600+service+manual&cd=8&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=nz
usually this occurs when the tape position sensor goes faulty... There is NO home repair.
it is my professional opinion though that everyone should take their units to their manufacturers approved service center, in your case Pioneer, by contacting a head, or local office, for your unit & getting a referral to approved service center is just SO important, even worth the extra to ship it, if you have to. You see, at those places, the Engineers, are trained on the equipment you have, they usually have parts on hand, and do the job quicker. Anyway do that and get a "Quote". This way, at least, you'll know weather to repair or replace. As seemingly small faults can manifest into major costs these days.

I have a Pioneer Cassette Changer that has out of place some tiny parts and by this the transpont doesn't pick up any cassette but it, the thansport, moves like it should. Do you know how can I di

Changers are notorious items to have failure- that is why most Technicians have high end single well decks. There is no secret way to fix changers. You need to get the service manual to know where and how the parts go into the unit and then get into the transport of the unit to restore that parts into position. In my experience with plastic part changers, they do not stay in the correct shape and parts work out of reference which result in jam ups and further problems down the way. Most of my work was done in CD changers but I did a few cassette changers and they are all disasters designs.

Paper cassette is not seated correctly. check for paper or objects blocking the cassette path. reinsert the cassette and press Start. keep getting this message. started after printing and installing...

I had this same problem and tried everything (I thought) to fix it. Then I saw the solution at:
http://www.retrevo.com/c/sohohelp/blogs/show/6633/I-just-had-my-espon-artisan-800-replaced-and-the-refurb-keeps-saying-that-the-paper-cassette-is-not-seated-correctly#replyForm

Basically there is a plastic pin that tends to break off and stays in the area where the cassette is loaded. It takes up just enough space to keep the cassette from being pushed in all the way. The solution is to turn the printer off, unplug it, then lift up the printer so the broken pin falls out. Once it comes out, the printer will work fine again.

I change the belt and now, I have a new problem. The cassette won't go inside the vcr. When I push the cassette, the motor won't start. If I shutdown and shuton the vcr, the cassette goes in and come...

It is possible that there is a fault in the INDETECT section of the cassette detection.
Normally this is triggered when the cassette is pushed into and if there is no detection the loading motor does not work nor the lock is moved to let the tray move on into the loading tray.
So when you put the VCR ON/OFF the detection motor works for a small period of time as a pre check which in the process allows the motor the load the cassette into the section but while it is inside the processor does not get the INDETECT or the IR END sensors to work thereby allows the rejection to be ejected out.
You will need to check the loading detect sensors and the IR sensors for the fault described.

I cant find my manual how to i place the paper underneath so it feeds through the bottom

You can use the paper cassette located at the bottom of the printer, on the front when the output paper tray is closed concealing the paper feed switch, the usb port and the cassette lamp.
1 Gently pull out the cassette from the printer.
2. Remove the cover from the cassette.
3. Place your paper in the cassette tray.
a. when using A5 or larger sized paper (non standard sized paper, pinch the tab and extend the cassette if needed.
b. legal sized paper is not loadable in the cassette
4. Do not load paper above the load limit mar4k.
5. Make sure the print side of the paper is facing down.
6. Align the paper stack against the right side of the cassette
7. Slide the paper guides so they fit the loaded paper stack.
8. The paper cassette will hold up to 150 sheets of plain paper, however you do not eant to stack any more than 50 sheets in the Paper Output Tray.
9. Reinsert the cassette into the printer. Then set the cover on the cassette. Now make sure the cassette is pushed al the way into the printer. (If long paper was used and the cassette was extended iy will now extend beyond the front of the printer
10. Prepare the paper output tray by opening the front cover and pulling out the tray extension until extended completely.
11. Press the paper feed switch so the cassette lamp lights.

You can slo select the paper source with the printer driver if you prefer .

12 Disc CD Changer in 2002 Corvette Convertible

I had this problem on my 2001 Corvette. I took the whole thing out, took off the cover and was able to get the jammed cartridge out by carefully pulling the stuck tray out of the carriage and then removing the entire carriage. Check to make sure your individual trays are not warped. Mine continued to work without problems for about three months and then it happend again. Another thing you can do is not to load a disk in the last (#12) slot. I think it's the one that gets stuck.

Pioneer multi cassette changer CT M6R

I have had this same problem too. I fixed it by taking the tape transport out of it and removing both capstans with their flywheels and oiling the capstans. However this only fixed the problem for a few months. Maybe you need to more a most soild oil since i used just regular motor oil.

Loading tapes

I had a similar issue where the tape bay would not lock in and engage the motor mechanism to load the tape. I removed the battery from the unit and let it stand for approximately a minute then reinserted the battery. The tape drawer closed first without a tape then reopened with no issue. I then inserted a new tape with no issue. I guess it needed a hard reboot.
