Hello,

The turntable system consists of the motor, the coupler, the turntable support with rollers, and the tray.
If yours is not set to be off via the control panel, and it won't rotate or it sounds like it's grinding, etc., you may have a bad motor or plastic coupler.

To replace either, you need to unplug power, then remove the bottom cover of the oven. Remove the round dish. Remove the circular ring with the rollers and set aside with the dish. Carefully with a butter knife, pry up the coupler and set aside. Examine to make sure it isn't broken or cracked where it slips over the motor shaft. Remove 5 Phillip head screws from the bottom pan and it hinges down out of the way exposing the motor. Remove 2 screws holding the motor, slip off the plastic dual flat connector and slip back onto a new motor. Remember your actual microwave model number is on a metal tag inside the microwave on the left side. Put the motor screw in as removed so the shaft is free to stick up the hole in the bottom of the MW. Put the pan screws back up, put the coupler on, the ring in and then the dish and line the slots of the dish up with the star coupler so it catches. Turn on MW, touch the turntable button and make sure it is "ON" and not "OFF" and it should be, with the door shut, turning like a quiet little top as new.

Take care.

Sometimes the turntable would run and then it would quit for days or weeks food still cooked. Now it has not turned in months.

The turntable motor will need to be replaced, the advantage when it is working, the food is heated more evenly when it is turning, but it is not essential to replace.

The glass turntable has for my DAEWOO KOR-1B4H has never properly fit on the turning gear and continually falls off the track. Was this a common problem with the model, or did somebody just put the wrong ...

Hi and welcome to FixYa I am Kelly. You either have the wrong glass tray or one of the wheels on the lower caster / spinner is stuck. I think you have the wrong tray. Daewoo uses several different sizes of glass trays. See this link for examples: (and they are too small!)

http://microwaveglasstrays.com/shop/-c-21_73.html

Note the 10" (254 mm) / 11 3/4" (279 mm) / 12 3/4" (323 mm) sizes and the difference of the caster guides on the bottom of the plates.

I have been trying since 1 minute after you posted just to cross the KOR-1B4H number to a parts reference without success.

I did find one reference here: The price of the tray is outrageous!
http://www.expertappliance.com/partfinder.php
Part number is: Z11-KOR-1B4H -221 $94.33

Honestly I would probably use the email link on the page and ask what the size was of the tray and then SHOP SOME WHERE ELSE!

The interior dimensions of your microwave are:
Interior Dimensions: 14-1/2 in. W x 9-7/10 in. H x 15-1/2 in. D

I searched ebay and came up with this link: http://shop.ebay.com/sis.html?_kw=Daewoo+KOR1NOA+Carousel+Microwave+Turntable+Tray-Glass I think your turn table will be the 2nd one on the list. 14 1/4" That only leaves 1/8" clearance on each side of your unit. The last 2 on the page may be a better match at 13.5 inches leaving 1/2 in. clearance on each side of the turntable.

You can try and email them here and ask what is the replacement part number for the glass turntable: (also ask for a source!) dwap@daewoo-appliance.com

I understand now why you asked FixYa for help. This one was a real challenge.

Thanks for choosing FixYa,
Kelly

Whirlpool Roper Microwave MHE14XMB turntable stops turning

Hello :

The turntable has a separate motor under the unit(inside) that is quite small..... They just do go out from time to time..!!!!! Just remember to set the timer for shorter periods of time on items that require long cook times and turn it around the other way . Repairing is a bit expensive . You can ask first .

good luck .

I HAVE A KENWOOD MICROWAVE GT/AL17,THE TURNTABLE HAS STOPED TURNING, ANY ADVICE MANY THANKS. TONY Nr IRRLAND

Two possibilities: either the turntable coupling is broken or the turntable motor has quit. The plastic coupling can wear or crack so it no longer fits properly on the turntable motor shaft. Then even though the motor still turns, the turntable doesn't. Or the motor itself may have stopped working. If the plastic coupling still looks normal and you can't rotate it easily by hand while it's in place, it's probably the motor.

I'm here in the US so I can't suggest where to find parts, but you should be able to locate a supplier who might have replacements available. Of course the oven will still work without the turntable running. You'll have to open the oven occasionally and turn the food yourself to insure even cooking.

Turntable no longer turns not getting full power

Are any other appliances or light bulbs giving you trouble?

I would want to first make sure that your power line voltage was correct.

Or, when you say "not getting full power" does that means it's not heating as well?

That's quite possible, since the turntable is essential to even heating.

You can see and hear a video of how a turntable motor should sound when you rotate it by hand: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rPSWi_z7M58

If yours won't rotate or it sounds like it's grinding, etc., you may have a bad motor or plastic coupler.

To replace either, you need to unplug power, then remove the bottom cover of the oven. You may have to cut the cover off with snips, then use a screw when reassembling it.

Please write back with your brand and model number and more details if you need further help.

We're happy to help and we appreciate your thoughtful rating of our answer.

Dacor PMOR 30SS 1100

jamison665 was you using the microwave when this happened? Reason I ask is that all microwaves over the range have a temp sensor so if you are using the cooktop and don't have the vent fan on the OTR running, it will turn on the fan if it gets to hot. Once this cools off, the fan will quit running. When this happens, it is only the fan that is running. I think this may be it since the turntable will rotate when the mircowave cooking section is in use.
