Once you open the back of the TV,look at the can shaped items on the board that the power cord plugs into.If any of them have the tops,or bottoms bulged out, they need to be replaced. This should get it working again.I hope this helps. If you have any other questions, please let me know.Thank You very much!

Lately, my TV keeps shutting off automatically.

it is broken from shaking,it was probably dirty and could not breathe and when you shook it,you shook the dust into the tv,time for a new one,if you smoke in the house it will kill it quicker,it gums up everything and attracts more dust and overheats.

Element flx 2210 does not power up automatic after pressing the power buttin

You have classic symptoms of a failing power supply board. As others have stated this is caused by the filter capacitors on the power board. This model uses the 200-000-xxxxtltx power supply which is the same one found in the Polaroid TLS-01911c TVs. Here is a link to a repair guide that shows what to look for and replace on this board to get you TV back up and running again.

You need to look inside to see which board has smoked, I will suspect the power supply module. This is poorly designed TV!

Hello,

Your power supply board is dead, u know basic electronics' and soldering? Most of the times, the power supply board just have dead leakages gases capacitors. These capacitors always bulges up on it top,or puff up on it top.Replaced these gases leakages capacitors will get your TV power stable, and work again.Or tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a whole refurbish power supply board for the replacement.
Hope this help in solving the problem.....

My 42 inch television plays sound but the picture doesnt show, then the sound stops and the green power button begins to flash.

You may have bad power supply or shorted out backlight inverter board that causes the TV to go into shutdown mode. You need to check those two boards out.

There is no picture just a black screen. Had it for about a year and a half. The "element" word appears on the screen when I turn it on and I get sound but no picture. Could it be the bulb?

Look in the back of the tv when its on and see if there's light from the CCFL lamps inside. If so then the timing control board needs to be repaired or replaced. If the lights are off then either the master-or-slave inverter boards need to be repaired or replaced. Get someone who's technically savvy and I'll show them what to do and fix your tv. Get back too me when you can...

Shuts off

From the information you have provided failed capacitors in the power supply is likely causing the problem. The safety circuitry shuts the TV set down when it detects a problem. This model of TV has over 2,000 parts which include millions of transistors inside the integrated circuits. The capacitors will change value, leak and become defective. Resistors will change value and burn. Integrated circuits and transistors can go bad. This can cause other components to become defective, which can have a domino effect and cause other parts to fail. Replacing one defective part may make the TV operate for a short time but the part will fail again since if the parts that caused the failure to begin with are not replaced. The only way to know for sure what is causing the problem, which parts that are no longer within factory specs and for proper repair all the electronics must be diagnosed by someone with the correct electronic test equipment and the skills to use the test equipment. The repair should cost about $250 if carried into a TV repair shop. A small TV repair shop will often charge less than a large repair facility.
