It can be the power supply module or shorted out backlight inverter board which will cause the power supply to go into safety shutdown mode, those are the two areas you need to check. Right now the 5VDC standby is working.
If you are going to DIY and have proper tools, electronics knowledge, and know safety precaution then please read on:

I have not had that exact problem, I'm sure you have tried powering off for more than 10 minutes, for some reason that has alway fixed my issues with the same model you have. Good luck!

Why is it when I turn on the tv the power lcd light is green and then starts to blink red and will not show a picture?

Because it has a problem. Most likely in the power board, although you shouldn't take it as granted.

The number of red blinks is actually an error code.
Not a very informative one, mind you, but you can try counting and searching.

Can't help more with the information I have, sorry...

Sharp Aquos 30" monitor only

The monitor will not work without the AVC box.
Do you still have the monitor? Is it in good condition? Would you be willing to sell it? If so, please email me at info@btwconcepts.com

Power on problems

this worked for me before, but now the problem came back after being fixed for months! unplug the two connectors at the back of the tv, the ones that look like computer monitor cables. then go to top of tv and use manual controls, turn off main power, then turn on while holding input and vol down button, a small service menu will come up, use the channel up down button to go to test, then push input button, there should be a box with reset and some number in red. use the vol buttons to reset to 0, then power off.... reconnect the cables and then turn on the tv.
