My Samsung HD Television screen turn pink and has no sound. What is that meen?

Sounds like a problem I've seen on many Hitachi dlp sets, But I'll take a shot. First you need to check and make sure the audio/video cables are tight on the back of the tv and the cable box. This is the most common reason for discoloration on this set. Next, you should let the tv cool down and try unplugging the power from the wall outlet. Just about thirty seconds should do. Maybe it will reset.Third thing to try then would be replacement of the color wheel or digital board. I have this set at home and have repaired them for the factory since they were first produced. Most likely it's caused from loose or bad component video cables but if it needs a color wheel it should be obvious upon removal. This requires major disassembly but can be handled by a cautious and alert person with a long handled philips screwdriver. Magnetic preferred. If you need more help I'm here, Russmann.

The only time I have had issues like this was because of the Component Cables not being in the right position (the Red and Blue connections switched), or a bad Component Cable where the Blue Connection is not receiving a signal. Swap out the cable to be sure and double check that it is properly installed. Green to Green, Red to Red , Blue to Blue.
Hope this helps,

HD ready?

If it is HD ready it will have HD component cable hookups. They are the red, blue, and green color coded hook up. You may also have RGB hookups which will look like a usb port. If you have any of these hook ups located on the TV then it is HD ready. If not then you were told false information. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Noise from Samsung rear projection DLP HD TV.

this noise is an indication of a bad color wheel. aa dlp uses a mechanical motor to spin a coloered segment disk. this turn the white light of the lamp into your colors of pictures. Now anything that moves will eventally break. the flickering is also an indication of a color wheel going bad. eventally this will cause the set to shut down. Color wheels can be replaced. i dont know your model so i am not sure of the exact replacement procedure. at my shop we charge average 250 for such a repair

I love your model, out of all the sets i work on i would say to keep it as long as you can. You have a simple convergence problem and its not to bad of a repair even at the DIY level. The new sets on the market these days brake about every 10months so to keep your 8 year old tv would be a smart choice. If you can solder and use a meter we can fix your set for under $100. If you call a repairman to fix it its going to run you $300-$500 depending on your area. But even at that its less than 1/4 the price of a quality new set. Remember when you buy a new set these days you dont only have to buy the tv you have to buy a stand to put it on or a wall mount (then if you mount it on the wall either you need to know how to do it or you will need to pay someone to do it) then i never would buy a new set without an extended warranty, then you have cableing to buy (most likely your going to hook it up hdmi) and so on. To put a brand new 52" tv in your house that i would reccomend after its all said and done your going to be looking anywhere from $2500-$3500. Hope this is the info you were looking for. any more questions, or if you want to try the repair yourself just ask!!
