Unless the gears are damaged the gears dont jam themselv's....this is a cross cut machine have you ever oiled it.??? Put some lightweight oil on a sheet of paper and run it thro' the machine; do this a couple of times to start...if you use the machine a lot then do this once per week at least and only run the machine at about 70% of its rated capacity...less strain on the motor and parts and the unit will last longer.

Printer keeps jamming

There might be something loged between the pickup gears. I would suggest bringing it in to a qualified printer repair shop to have it looked. it might be a simple staple or lint that's jamming the gears.

The feed rollers keep jamming and feeding in at an

phyical inspection of the rollers for a jam or a roller out of its socket would be my first look.
then inspect the plastic gears at the side of the rollers as these will crack and are hard to spot untill they break completely.
Always check your printer properties first and make sure it is set for the correct type of paper.
Unfortunately if has broken gears it will be less expensive to replace than repair.. Regards

My printer keeps jamming. I have replaced the

The most common cause for jamming every copy on this model is a broken fuser drive gear. If you open the right side door you have a gate that flips open with a bunch of "teeth" on it. This gate is part of the fusing unit. If the paper always stops in this area when entering the fuser it is a broken drive gear. Your Xerox is made by Sharp. The part number for the gear is NGERH0540FCZ3
Perhaps you can find a local repair person who can replace it for you.
Good Luck

Ricoh CL 7100 fuser jam.

The grinding noise is the clashing of gears. The fuser is composed of 2 rollers, a metal or ceramic with a heater inside (bulb) and a silicon roller to apply pressure. The 'hot' roller is geared and the silicon roller can be geared or free floating. There is at least 1 paper sensor in the the fuser to let the unit know whether paper is there and there when it should or should not be. Sometimes, the sensor gets slightly dislodged and can actually cause a jam. If you are hearing a gear clash, the paper is being pushed through the machine and instead of being pushed through the fuser, it stops because the fuser rollers are not turning. The rest of the machine keeps pushing, crinkling the paper.
If there is crinkling, then gears that drive the fuser need to be checked. It is this gear cluster and/or the fuser that need to be replaced.

Toshiba 2060 jams (accordion/fans the paper) at the fuser unit. Torn Paper now stuck next to the roller/drum and now jams every time. How do I remove the torn bits of paper to keep it from jamming?

sounds like a broken fuser drive gear. The fuser operates a nearly 400 degrees Fahrenheit and the drive gear cracks and falls off.Lots of trouble for a 50 cent gear. They are mad of fiber or plastic.take a few of the covers off near the fuser and disconnect the cables and the fuser slides out

Carriage jam continues after clearing paper

I just picked up an officejet 7410 off craig's list for free because it a had a carriage jam error. I followed all the online instructions to fix it and nothing worked. I tore the printer down to the guts and found a black plastic gear that had a cracked shoulder. This gear is pressed onto a metal shaft which is splined. The splines are to keep the gear from spinning on the shaft. The crack in the shoulder of the gear was allowing it to spin on the shaft which it was not supposed to. I'm assuming the gear cracked due to a paper jam. I fixed this by drilling a 1/16th diameter hole through the shoulder of the gear and the shaft while the gear was installed on the shaft. Then I installed a roll pin(or tension pin) into the drilled hole, thus keeping the gear from spinning on the shaft. Now it works great. One of the pics has a yellow mark where the crack is, with the pin installed 90 degrees to the crack. This requires a little skill, but I hope it helps.d921235.jpg0ad56a9.jpg
