Question about Breezaire WKCE 2200 Wine Cooler

Open Question

Our unit is not putting out cool air as it used to. I would say our unit is at about 65 degrees and I have it at max. Who do I call for service? What is the life of this cooling system?

SOURCE: breezaire wkce 1060 does not cool my wine cabinet

I'm not familiar with your unit, but sounds like condenser problems. Check for a dirty coil on the backside or underneath the unit. Also, if it has a fan for that coil, make sure it's running when the compressor is running and that the blades are clean. Other than that, it could have developed a refrigerant leak.

I have my brand new frigidaire window ac unit set at 60 degrees Fahrenheit, so why does it only cool and keep the room at 65 to 68 degrees Fahrenheit?

if you have it set at 60 F and it is working at 65 to 68 F then that would be about right
as the air is cooled the cold air falls to the floor and out under the door, open window or anywhere else it can escape
the unit has to be at 80% room height so if it is set in a window then when the cold air gets up to the thermostat or ac level in the window then it will stop cooling
So if the ac unit is say 4ft from the floor and the ceiling height is 8 ft then the ac will only cool the bottom 4 ft
cold air does not rise but falls down
if you are using a ceiling fan then the cold air is stirred up and the 65F sounds about right
remember that the setting temp ( what you set it at) is the lowest temp that it will go down to before it stops cooling and if that is not reached it will keep working to attain that temp and if the room is too big, air leaks under door . around the fit in the window , no insulated walls , hot exterior wall, etc then maybe 65 F is the best you will get

The air conditioner is emitting cool air instead of cold air. I have the setting on cold and the temperature setting at 60 degrees. On these days that have been near and over 100 degrees, that cool air...

Typical temp split should be 15 to 20 degrees. A 75 degree return air temp should be in the 50s. Be sure coils are clean , if in that range the machine can do no more. If it is not, you likely have a refrigerant issue.

I bought a ge 8000 btu portable ac unit but i don't know how to get it into cool mode it will only run when fan is on. should the same picture on the remote be on the screen of the ac unit. how long should...

mcdevito75 here, First Place the FAN on low or it may not say fan rather low cool, for 3 minutes, then the other control to 60--65 degress or 1/2 way thru the Blue indication on that control, compressor should come on. If it"s an old unit in need of service 2years old or older check out your local A/C repair shop they come to the house, also you can clean or replace the filter just under the cover where the controls are. FAN or LOW COOL FIRST FOR 3 Minutes, then Teperature to 60--65 degrees.

I have a thermal cool portable air cond. package unit. Mod. # mac 12, it runs but will only cool to 71/70 degrees. theres no shreder valves to check press. should i put one in on the suction side, and see...

Hi; Please dont take this the wrong way but never open a closed freon system unless You suspect a leak and can find it..Is the unit trying to cool a space too large for the BTUs of cooling avaliable. Is the suction line sweating back to the compressor. Are the evaporator and condensing coils clean. How old is the unit. Is there still a warranty on the unit. There is a device called a pressure temperature chart. In other words if You can determine the temp. at the suction line withen 6 inches from the compressor You can cross reference the freon pressure.
Also rember the output cooling temp. will only be 15 degrees cooler than the temp. inside the space being cooled . So if its 80 degrees in the space being cooled the unit will give about 65 degree air.

Room at 84. unit set at 65. outside is 94 degrees.

I brows the web to see the specs of your unit.In that case the unit cannot cool down the room temperature, you must consider the following:The volune of the room, it might be exceeded the specified capacity, the thermal isolation of the room, must be shield from leaks, and the materials used, the absorption of the matterial at first operation, the materials around the area will absorb coolness prior to room air, and the ambient temperature outside may affect the performance of the system,If too hot outside put a better thermal isolation inside.that helps? need thumbs up... sams_Ew0rks**

AMANA PTH153B35AE PTAC Temp drop??

PTAC temp drop should be 20 to 25 degrees across the coil. They never put a service tap on these units. I sell Amana PTACs. You may be alittle low on gas. Check your air TD and that will tell you. The compressor may be overheating due to lack of cool gas to cool the comp. May need a service tech but get a free estimate first. Rus

Day / Night HVAC is running cool air BUT the furnace is running 2

Strange. Does the thermostat control both the air conditioning units and the furnace. If not make sure the furnace thermostat is turned down to below 65 degrees.

Air is cooling but not as cold like last year!

If the air doesn't seem cool enough it is necessary to use a thermometer to check the difference in temperature between the air going into the unit and the air being blown into the room. Ideally, the temperature difference should be more than 15 degrees. For example, if the temperature going into the air conditioner is 80 degrees, the temperature coming out of the unit should be at least 65 degrees or less. If the difference is 15 degrees or more there is probably no cause for concern. If the temperature difference is less than 15 degrees you should check the following:

  • Air damper

Check to make sure the air damper is closed. If it's open, it will bring in outside air and reduce the efficiency of the unit.
