Question about Husqvarna Lawn Tractor 48" Deck, 23 Hp, Model# Yth2348

1 Answer

No start push mover Briggs motor 6.75 horse 22" blade. Let neighbor borrow. Lol the blade is bent pretty good. The engine turns over. Upon pulling the cable the mower turns over then recoils the cable back into the reel with force. The blade isn't hitting the frame. Haven't checked compression yet. I'm thinking bent crank or the timing off. Maybe sheared the flywheel key? I haven't Che ked spark yet. I don't think it's gonna be air, spark, fuel issue.

On any pushrod engine you have to make sure that the timing is correct or nearly correct when first firing it up, if you had the cam in the wrong position the pushrod had no place to go when the cam lobe came around=bend push rod.

I have a constant vibration when running my poulan pro self propelled 22 inch cut lawn mower. any solutions to the problem......

My guess is that you have hit something pretty solid while mowing. You have either bent the blade, bent the crankshaft, or both. To check for a bent crankshaft, set the mower up on a table or tailgate where the handle is on the ground and the spark plug is pointed into the air. DISCONNECT THE SPARK PLUG !!! You don't want to risk starting it in this position. While a friend holds the engine brake lever closed, and pulls the rope, you need to watch the blade bolt. If the bolt spins without wobbling, just replace the blade. If the bolt wobbles, then the crankshaft is bent. A bent crankshaft can be straightened by a reputable shop. Not all shops are will to straighten crankshafts. It is not a cheap repair.
Good luck!

Check the blade and the blade shaft. Maybe something down there got bent. If the cord won't pull, there is probably something obstructing the blade from moving, or it got bent out of shape. Also try lubricating the shaft to see if that helps.

Try to determine if the safety switch on the seat is closing or opening.
Does this happen when you are sitting on the seat and engage the blades?

You're ight, if you have gas and spark it should run, if the mixture is right.

Good luck on this one.

This motor has a known problem for bending push rods.

RECOMENDATIN:

Check for bent push rods.
Change oil every 30 hours of operation or less.
Use a hi quality of oil only.

Hope this tip helps..

Bent push rods are a function of the valve guide coming loose in the head. The valve binds and you end up with a bent pushrod. Fix: Replace head. $94.00

I hit a rock and bent the blade on a yard machine. Replaced the blade and tried to start the mower, but the start rope doesn't come out all the way and recoils hard as I'm trying to pull it out.

I did the same exact thing over the weekend, try adjusting your new blade unscrew the main bolt to the blade about 1/2 turn that should get it spinning again, same exact thing happened to me. Good Luck
