I would say no

ethanol e85 will mix easliy with water and ethanol will cause problems with your saw and is not recommended in small engines , chainsaws or trimmers - it will damage diaphrams and rubber components

My six year old chainsaw won't start?

If it ran before you stored it and you left gas in it, you can thank ethanol for your troubles.Try fresh mixed gas with a heavy does of ethanol treatment or Seafoam in the tank, prime it and try to start it 10 times, then let it soak for a few days and try again. Good luck

What is the gas/2 cycle oil mixtuure for a husqvarna 55 chainsaw

These saws were normally ran on a slightly richer mix. The reason was becuase of the mix oil available. I would recommend running a 40:1 or 50:1 mix. Make sure you use an "FD" rated mix oil and Premium ethanol free fuel.
The premixed fuels / oils are even better. They contain the FD rated oil 95 octane fuel and no ethanol.

ETHANOL fuel has completely dissolved the fuel pick up line in my chainsaw, the only thing left is chunks of it and the filter. I looked at it and tried to find an exploded picture of one online. no...

Yes, anything can be fixed, well almost. I've had the same problem with small engines. Start by taking the plastics off, you should be able to find the rest of the fuel line that goes to the primer bulb. Then from the bulb to the carb. You need to the correct size fuel line and replace it and put on a new filter. Just remember, if it damaged the lines, the carb needs to be removed and soaked or replaced. To keep from going through this again I recommend the pre mix two cycle fuel, just make sure the ratio is correct, chainsaws are usually 50:1 and other small engines run 40:1

It seems that when the chainsaw gets hot, it shuts down and will not start?

taking a wild guess at this problem, but you are probably using gas that has ethanol in it
gas with ethanol will burn up a small motor
try using non ethanol gas and see if that fixes problem

I have a relatively new 16" Husqvarna chainsaw, and I have the hardest time getting it started....sometimes I can't even get it started. Once I get it going, it usually runs fine, but it is extremely...

We have a Husky 435 (two year warranty) that was new last year. It would start and run fine for several days, then nothing--took to warranty service where they replaced the ignition module the first time. Ran for several more days, then nothing again--this time they replaced the carburetor and it seems to working fine from then on. Suspect that Husqvarna has had problems with our ethanol-blended fuels. If you still have warranty coverage, then take advantage. Hope this helps!

Do I have to use ethanol free gasoline?

It had better do so--or any saw brand that fails to run on ethanol blended fuels will see sales fall rapidly in the USA. We, personally, own one of these same saws which (when new) ran great for about 3 days, then refused to start. A trip to the warranty repair station got us a new ignition module. After return, it ran for about two days, then would not start again. The warranty repair then installed a replacement carburetor and about a year later, still seems to be working fine--it's a great hard working saw when it operates correctly. Good luck!
