I HAVE A CANON MP600 ALL IN ONE PRINTER. SCANNER etc., AND I HAVE AN ERROR CODE OF 6A00 COME UP! both green and amber lights flashing and will not allow me to print... can you please help
The MP600 cannot scan film or slides. Film/slide scanners need a light source to shine through the film to the scanner sensor. You can use a flat bed scanner with a light source such as the CanoScan 5600F, or a multifunction unit equipped with a backlight source such as the Canon PIXMA MP810, MP970 or MP980.
Open the scanner cover and place the document to be scanned. Then press the START button the initialize the scanning. But first, make sure that the scanner software is installed.
Hi, The all in one solution software you used in XP doen't work with Vista.
But you can still scan and copy by using Windows Photo Gallery.
1. Click on files tab at the top in Window Photo Gallery.
2. Click on import from camera or scanner.
3. Highlight your scanner icon (ie Canon MP600) then click import.
4. New scan window will popup, now you can preview or scan using this basic looking Vista utility.
I had the same problem on a Mac after upgrading OSX (on 10.5.7 now).
Downloaded the newest scanner driver from Canon: http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=ModelInfoAct&fcategoryid=2610&modelid=13800 and now it scans without delay!
I always scan using MP Navigator, not from the scanner itself: let's me edit the scans and save where I want as .jpg or .pdf.
windows XP instructions.can be easily applied to other operating systems
-turn printer/scanner on -go to control panel -click on system -click on hardware -click on device manager -click on imaging devices -right click on canon mp600 and choose updat driver option and then after that is done.click on scan for hardware changes

this should make sure scanner work.. but if it still doesnt work then go back to the device manager and check if there are any hradwares with a yellow question mark beside them.if there is then right click on them and click update driver. if that does not solve the problem try reinstalling the CD or go to the canon MP00 web page (google it) to dowmload the printer/scanner drivers. and repeat everything until it works or until you give up =). hope it all works out bye!
