The eMachines e725 has a built in switch to toggle the touchpad on or off by the touch of a button. Look at the button to the left of the main power switch. You'll notice the icon looks like a hand touching a rectangle - or touchpad. If this button is lit up, the touchpad is turned off. Simply press the button to toggle the touchpad back on. The light on the button should now be off.
