There is a bar that gose from the front of the deck to the height adjustment bar it has a pine in each end of the bar. disconnect it from the bar and tie it to the deck. this bar is only to be used when changing the drive belt

The grass is either to thick and long, or it is wet. You will just have to mow slower

Cutting Blades going too slow

if it is an older mower or has a lot of hours on it it is possible that the deck belts have stretched or wore out. if it runs fine in short grass but slows down in taller grass that is a sign of a wore belt. replace and it should be good. also be sure your blades are sharp. that will have a effect on its cutting capability.

I have a riddeing lawn tractor and on its highest setting cuts grass too short how do i raise the deck to get a taller grass

if you look under lawn mower were the deck attachs you will see the adjustment rods unhook one at a time to adjust ether screw the rod in or out do this on a driveway so you can measure with the tape measure how for you or lifting deck and can match hight on both sides

When I engage the blades on my ez4824 the blades intermittently stop cutting particularly in higher grass. Do you think this is a loose belt problem? Thanks.

That is the most likely cause of the problem - taller and thicker grass the blades encounter more resitance and the drive belt slips and it doesn't cut. This would likely cause a juddering of the machine when it occurs.

Hope this helps.

Own a Troy Bilt self-propelled model #12A-466-M011 for a year now. It worked great when first got it. Now it will not clear the grass underneath so cuts off every 15 feet and have to manually clear grass...

I had the same problem with my Troy-Bilt self propelled lawn mower. You have to use the grass catcher if your grass is high. Also, I mowed wet grass and it made my belt slip off the pulley and created a new problem, somowing wet grass is definitely not a good idea.

Belt slipping when in heavy grass. Is there an adjustment for belt tension?

this belt streching thingy is a made up fairy tale, that dealers want you to believe..so youll buy more belts...do belts really strech..?
ya..a little..but id bet your real culprit is the pulley..there is a tention spring that usually gets knocked out of place..or there is a build up of grass hindering its progess....your answer...no there is no adjustment...
drop your deck to its lowest setting and play around with that pulley till you see it getting tighter...then engage your deck blades(with the mower turned off)and move the pulley to free it from its off track position..take out the grass thats collecting in there also(dont roll it up and smoke it)
and you should be fine...good luck...ive been there..actually last week i did the same thing...the first thing i thought was...My belt stretched...lol

what is happening is there is tomuch grass in deck & not discharging as fast as it cuts it if deck is ajustable put it on high setting then try if it works then got back over it with a lower setting this is most likely the case to much grass in deck while mowing blade gets cought up alot with alot of grass in deck

Swisher lawnmower wont mow

Yes It would. The belt doesn't just wear it slackens also. It will probably turn the blades when not under load but as soon at it attempts to cut grass there is not enough grip.
Replace the belts first and it should be fine.
