Lost disk windows xp pro

Borrow one from a neighbor, friend, relative or co-worker. Just make sure it is the same version as the one on your computer. Look on the side of your case for the Certificate of Authentication (COA) sticker. It will tell you which operating system you have and it will show you the Product Key Code (series of 5 letters and numbers). You will need the exact same version of Windows that is on your COA Sticker, otherwise you will not be able to activate it.

When it ask for the Product key try the key that is on your computer, sometimes it wants the key that is on the CD you use to install, so get the key from whoever you borrow the cd from.

No operating system

Are you saying the system cannot find the operating system when you boot or are you saying you know there is no operating system and you want to install one.

If you want to install the operating system just make sure it is the same as specified on the Certificate of Authentication (COA) sticker and that you can read the Product Key Code (series of 5 letters and numbers) on the COA. This is the only way you will be able to Activate the product after installation.

Can i reset a Dell Precision 360 to factory without disks ?

Swapping disks that run on a different system will not work unless the systems are exactly alike (manufacturer's make and model).

Your best bet is to reinstall the operating system if you can read the Product Key Code (series of 5 letters and numbers) on the Certificate of Authentication (COA) sticker on the computer. You have to reinstall using the same version of the operating system. If the COA says Windows XP Pro, then you need to reinstall with a Windows XP Pro operating system disk otherwise when it comes time to activate and put in the product key code you'll have issues and it will never activate.

I need registration key

If your computer is the 2400 like the catagory you have posted to, then your product key should already be on the side of your computer. If you lost it but still have the original disk set that came with the machine, You can reinstall from the original Dell disks and not be asked to activate your product since the key and activation are preloaded from the Dell factory disk. Otherwise you will have to buy a product key from a computer store. It will probably have to be purchased from a small computer store or online since places like Best Buy and Staples were forced to stop selling the XP products in January. The average price for an OEM CD with Certificate of authenticity is about $99 depending on where you get it. Hope this helps...

My 30 day free trial is up and my product key never worked...it s

Is this a windows product key? It should be afixed on the bottom of the laptop. If someone sold you a laptop with no COA (certificate of authenticity) then that individual broke the law. Windows XP has to be activated in order to use. After the 30 trial period, it will lock you out until it is activated. If it is telling you you have the wrong product key, you can call to activate. But, if you don't have a product key, you will need to either buy one or install a distro of linux.

Hi got a acer 5220 notebook it had vista installed i formatted it 2 xp but some drives dont work i have not got a cd for vista what can i do?

What drives don't work? It is probably just some drivers. I would recommend finding the drivers and using XP, but if you want to put Vista back on... You can borrow a Vista DVD (Vista won't fit on a CD) from someone you know that has one. You should have a Vista COA (Certificate of Authenticity) on the bottom of your laptop with your 25 Digit Product Key. All versions of Vista are on every Vista disk, so when you put your product key in, it will install the correct version.

25-character product key of Microsoft office home and student 2007

Just to add to Antioch's comment you will be asked by Microsoft to fax through to them confirmation of purchase, and possibly a certificate of authenticity. They will then issue a further product key.

If it was a version supplied by Compaq, then contact them - presuming you registered your purchase they should be able to trace the record and replace your key.

I lose my Hp530 products key

The product key for Vista is normally on a sticker on the side of the machine if it was supplied pre-loaded, or on the certificate of authenticity if you bought Vista separately. Microsoft do not issue duplicate product keys - if you've lost it, and you need to reinstall, your only legal solution is to buy another license and another key.
