The Elmo 912 Dual 8 Editor is displaying the image out of frame how do I adjust that and is the some special attachment that is meant to be attached to the frame where there is an obvious place something should be attached?

my elmo 912 d 8mm editor is not one of the old 8mm only types, what is the "clip" attached to the frame just above the film exit of the viewing space? Also is there a way to frame the image when it is split about 25% below the top so you see the end of one frame and the top of the next?

  • c_jrsanders Aug 12, 2010

No comments back on the viewing framing issue but perhaps it is just and issue on how the film is tracking on the sprocket. The answer on the shoe purpose is helpful, I was wondering if it was a place to hold a spare sprocket, ie one for regular 8 and another for super 8, I only have the one.

On the old 8 mm units, there is a frame sync adjustment- it's usually a round knob, so that's what you should probably look for, unless they have another type of system on this one.
As far as the attachment, go to this web page and read about the Elmo Sound Editor- sounds like that might what goes there.
Good luck, thanks for using FixYa, and hope this helps!

IT IS A 912 DUAL 8 NOT JUST AN 8MM, AND YOU REFERRED TO "GO TO THIS WEB PAGE" WHAT WEB PAGE?

I found this about the shoe feature, from a unit on Ebay:

provision of the accessory shoe permits easy installation of a number of editing accesories such as sound monitor, film cleaner and film counter, etc

How do I screenshot with my netbook device?

Assuming the netbook keyboards are similar, there should be a key labelled PrtSc near the upper right corner of the keyboard (see attached pics). Pressing the shift key and this one will save the screen image to the clipboard. Open a photo editor or document editor capable of displaying images (e.g. MS Word, OpenOffice Writer) and paste (Ctrl-V). If the PrtSc on the key is printed in blue, press the Fn key (located near the lower left on the keyboard) rather than the shift key.

How do I set up my Elmo to a data projector & a laptop? Specifically, Where do I put the RGB cords - what get's hooked up to what? Thanks!

I am going to bet you got a manual with the TT-02rx that explains the connectivity. If not, you can go to www.elmousa.com and download the manual from the TT-02rx page. Look on page 30.

TT-02rx can be connected in a couple of ways:

1. Directly to Projector - connect a standard VGA cable from the RGB output on the TT-02rx to a RGB (VGA) input on your projector. This will allow you to directly display anything you put under the Elmo camera.
2. USB to laptop, VGA from laptop to your projector. You can connect a standard USB cable from the Elmo to an open USB port on your laptop. From the laptop, you will need to connect VGA cable from output jack to projector input. To view images from the Elmo, you need to have installed the Imagemate software on your laptop first. Elmo can only be viewed thru the software interface.
3. The last option is run VGA from your laptop to VGA input on the Elmo. Then run VGA from Elmo to your projector. This offers the greatest amount of versatility as you can switch between the image on your computer screen and the image on the doc camera. Adding the USB cable as described in 2 above will also allow you to use the digital features such as image capture, reveal, spotlight, etc.

How can i adjust the scanner to scan DARKER?

Hi,

From the scanner menu in the “Advanced mode settings”, you can find the buttons for color settings.
Using Color Settings buttons, you can adjust the brightness and contrast of the whole image, specify highlights and shadows, and adjust the contrast and balance in an image.
Favorite Settings enables you to save a set of settings (Input Settings, Output Settings, Image Settings, Color Settings and Preferences) made for the focal cropping frame. If there are no cropping frames, settings for the whole preview area are saved.
You can also recall the saved settings and apply them to the selected frames or the whole preview area.

And you can adjust the scanner to scan darker.
Please find the explanation pictures attached.
Hope this helps.

Evere 6th or 8th frame james very frustad

I have a slide jaming problem and got this from ELMO support. I have not tried it as yet. I am using 80 slide carousels.

If the unit is jamming like the way you described it may be that the arm needs to be adjusted. If you hold down the SELECT button and turn off the unit while still holding for about 20 seconds at the same time as holding up the arm, you will be able to get to a screw that can adjust the height of the arm.
