Kenwood ka 996 integrated amp. The standby light will dont turn off. I also need to see if someone will tell how everything should be hooked up.

the standby light should be on if the unit is not 'ON' if you want the 894 to turn on when you power up the 996, then you will have to plug the ac for the 894 into the 'switched' ac outlet on the back of the 996

No Problem Yet with Kenwood Equipment. I haven't been able to connect units. I'm looking for the OWNER'S MANUALS for these Kenwood Items: JL-830W Speakers, KD-42RB Turntable, KX-42B Cassette...

Outs go to Ins. Turntable goes to PHONO. Tape Deck goes into Tape REC and Playback. All other inputs are Line Level and interchangeable despite the labeling. RCA cables all.

One speaker pair per speaker post set. Stripped ends of lamp cord suffice. Don't short anything or make any changes with power on.

It ain't rocket science.

Describe your kenwood manual "ka

Hi, Yes it is safe to leave this connection unhooked. The system control is what the stereo uses to remote control a cassette deck,cd,turntable etc... using the amplifier separately should be o.k. I hope this helps, good luck and thanks for choosing FixYa-Prodzilla

I have an old kenwood stereo system I forgot how to hook up it is a ka-87 amplifier a kt-57 tuner and a double deck cassette player kx-57w .Can anyone help?

Connect the RCA Outputs of the Tuner to the RCA inputs for Tuner on the amp.
Connect the output of the Tape Deck to the Tape Input on the amp.
Connect the input of the Tape Deck to the Tape Output on the amp.

Select Tuner on the amp to listen to the tuner.
Select tape Monitor to hear the Tape Deck(s).

Kenwood Stereo

I presume you realize none of these things produces speaker amplification. A receiver would do that and facilitate graceful and simultaneous interconnections. But it's not a necessity for selective interconnective between them, just not all at the same time.

I can't find any details on anything you named except the Tuner.

Typically, the tuner would use an RCA pair to go to a receiver AUX, TUNER or other Line Level input for source selection and amplification. Lacking a receiver, run it to the Tape Deck inputs for recording.

Ditto for the CD changer, but you'll probably have to disconnect the tuner.

Kenwood KX-W6080 dual stereo cassette tape deck

I have the same unit which had the same problem. It has to do with dirty contacts on each tape mechanism.

Remove the main cover and look down on each tape mechanism. You will see 4 contacts on each unit. These come in contact with the tape. Remove each unit by removing 4 holding screws.

You will now be able to spray some contact cleaner into the front of the plastic contact cover. I removed the covers on both of the second from the right contacts so that I could clean them with an abrasive. These are the main ones.

Put everything back the way it was and the tape deck should work great.
