SOURCE: the amp is in protect mode how do i get it out of

ok one of the most obvious reasons could be that the ground is not properly grounded but there are many reasons like something is hooked up wrong check all your connections before you turn to the internals or it could even be the fuses..

My Harmon kardon is stuck in protect mode

Disconnect all speaker connections and rca cables. Leave power, ground and remote wires intact. Try turning on again. If you still have a protection light your amp is faulty. Hopefully you have warranty. Double check all connections .A thumbs up would be greatly appreciated if this answer is helpful to you. Worth fixing.

I wanna supplied my Amplifier Lanzar MNX 250 with an 12V - 30 Ohm battery, but the led of my amplifier is red and my speaker doesn't play music. How can I fix the "protect mode" in which the...

  1. The battery is 12 volts and Ohms has nothing to do with your amp installation.
  2. Was the amp running and got hot? Many times an amp will go into "thermal mode" when used for an extended amount of time and need to cool down but I assume if you are trying to hook it up you were not using it.
  3. You need to check the ground wire real well. A loose ground will cause protect mode.
  4. Recheck the speaker wires and their connections. If they cross this to can cause protection mode.
  5. This is a 4 Ohm amp, are your speakers 4 ohm or lower> If not then you may be running to low of a load to your amplifier.
  6. I always remove everything from the amp first and power it on and then add wires and see where which connection throws the amp into power mode.
  7. Check the fuse as well but if the LED is on chances are your fuse is good.
  8. If you check all of the items I listed and the amp still goes into protect mode then your amp is bad.

Regards, Tony

There is an internal problem that is causing the amp to go into protect mode. Your amp uses a large IC as the final amp stage. This could be defective. See the link below for an explanation of protect mode. Feel free to post any additional questions that you may have.

If it's in protect mode, it probably has shorted output transistors. To eliminate other possible problems, read through the following page:

Stuck on standby

Unit is in protect mode there are a few problems that can trigger protect mode the most common is blown channel (shorted outputs). Sometimes one of the 15v regulators may go bad causing imbalance of supplys triggering protect mode. Also sometimes a bad solder connection could cause unit to go into protect also.
