That's normal. The gba will play all three generations of game boy games. The start up screen that comes up is that of whichever cartridge you are putting in.
Easy fix: Take out the game and blow into the bottom of the game and blow into the place where you out the game into the gameboy, and try again, If it doesnt work try again and then turn off and on untill the Nintendo logo comes clear
make sure u put the game on a game boy, gameboy color, gameboy advance, or gameboy advance SP.. blow inside the game, there is usually dust there which wont allow the game to start.
take out all of the games in the ds then the menu should come up then click the little ds picture at the bottom. that will take you to another menu. click on the wrench in the pink box, then click the top box which has an arrow pointing into a box. click the top box which says manual mode then press confirm. the ds will go off then when you turn it on it should go to the menu even with a game in. hope this helps! =)
It could be your gameboy has something in it. One time I got a dog hair in my gameboy and it wouldn't load anything. If that's not it, try removing the game and putting it back in while checking each time if the nintendo logo is fuzzy. Some of my older gameboy games require me to keep removing the game and pushing it back in over and over until it establishes a strong connection.
