Question about Kenwood KRC-X858 Cassette Player
The display does not turn on anymore. When I turned it on one morning, instead of the faceplate fliping to show the display to use,
it flipped the faceplate as if you wanted to remove the faceplate.
Now, it does this everytime I turn it on.
When I turn the deck on, the display unfolds for removing the faceplate. Removing/Reinstalling faceplate and using the reset button does not help.
Anyone have any help for this problem?
I have the exact same problem. I called the tech line and the tech reported that the ribbon cable is probably broke. It is the flex cable between the head unit and the rotating face plate. He said it's not an expensive fix but we would need to mail it to a service center if you're like me and not near one. I just replaced mine with a new unit. It was about time anyways.
