SOURCE: how long does it take

The first time you use the unit, it should be charged for 24 hours or more.
When it needs charging, my unit takes over 24 hours to fully charge and then lasts around 14 days until it needs another charge.

My Dyson dc 14 has very stiff rotater brush, forcing the clutch to slip with aclicking, grinding noise.

Unplug the machine.
With plenty of light, look to see where the part that moves would be stuck. Dirt, hair, grime, and dust get caught, causing just what you are describing. Without seeing it, I will guess a simple cleaning of this will address and deliver a solution. Hair that gets stuck in turning brushes can be pried away with a stiff brush (old toothbrush).

It is flashing a red light and not charging. How can i fix this?

Hi, it's Allan at Dyson.

Apologies for the late reply.

Essentially, it depends slightly on where this light is flashing. Is it on the battery itself or on the charger?

If it is flashing, is it fast or slow?

In this situation, there is not a fix that you yourself can do to resolve the problem. I would recommend contacting Dyson in your region to discuss it and resolve the problem via a new part.

Please give the Dyson Helpline a call on 1-866-693-9766 (US), 1-877-397-6622 (CA), 0800 298 0298 (UK). Our experts will be happy to talk you through some further diagnostic checks when you have your machine easily to hand.

I hope this is helpful.

Many thanks,

Allan

Red light flashing very fast and not charging fully

How long is it charging until the light goes from flashing red (no charge) to yellow to finally green (full charge) ? If it's not at least 2 hours, sorry I don't have my Roomba papers available, so I'm guesstimating here, it's not getting a full charge. If you can put a voltmeter on the " fully charged" battery pack, that might tell you if the charger is the problem. Clean off the metal contacts where Roomba meets the two metal contacts on the charger. Also just because a battery pack or set is new doesn't mean it's functional. I had a new Apple battery for my laptop that didn't work when I replaced an older one.

Z61 brush won`t rotate belt ok

Hartlepoolke:

Unplug the vacuum, turn it upside down and remove the floor plate so you can access the beater bar. Remove the belt from the motor shaft and remove the beater bar and belt from the machine. At each end of the beater bar there will be a small circular bearing. Carefully remove the bearings from the ends of the beater bar, and remove the collection of hair, carpet fibers and any other junk wrapped around the bearing mount studs. Grab an old pan... (something to wash the bearings in) and an old toothbrush. Scrub the bearings with the toothbrush dipped in rubbing alcohol, and attempt to spin the bearings by hand as you clean them. When the bearings will spin freely, dry them out, and put a drop of oil (preferably 3-in-1 or light machine oil in the bearing. Don't soak the bearing in oil, that will just attract more junk to jam the bearing. Wipe the bearings off and rotate them to ensure that they aren't ratcheting or siezing up. Check the belt to ensure that the motor spindle has not damaged the inside surface of the belt... If it has, a new belt may be in order. Reassemble the vacuum and you problem should be solved.

My electric toothbrush doesnt work any more even though I have only used it a dozen times. I have obviously tried to charge it, but with no result.I disposed of all the packaging when I started using it...

Depending on the type and quality of the toothbrush, it may not be able to get too wet (washing it under a sink.) However, most electronic toothbrushes are waterproof, and that's only one issue. The button on the toothbrush may have some sort of interference, some wires could be damaged. Also, if your electronic toothbrush is anything like mine (a pretty old one, I'm not sure if they use the same system any more.) It will have magnets that vibrate the brush inside of the toothbrush head attachment. If you're able to, try removing the head of the toothbrush and looking inside to repair anything that looks out of place.

My Oral-B Sonic Complete stops working afer 2x use despite being on the charger always.

These toothbrushes need to be completely discharged every six months or so to keep the battery fresh. Maybe the battery has packed in.
Take it out of the charger and turn it on till it stops completely then re-charge. It might kick start the battery.

Dear Sir, Madam, I have a tooth brush by Braun : Oral B Triumph 5000. I am not able to recharge the battery any more. What should I do ? Thank you in advance for your answer. Best regards. GH. Leroux

Three possibilities come to mind ::

- the rechargable battery is dead and won't take a charge and needs replacing, or

- the charger is malfunctioning (broken wire or burned out transformer), or

- the electrical contacts on the toothbrush and the contacts on the charger are not making good contact (need cleaning or re-tensioning).

How old is the toothbrush ? Is there a charging light and does it light up when it's charging ?
