Epson Stylus Pro 7600 has "paper out" light blinking. Error message says "Maintenance Required 0040". Does anyone know what this refers to and can I do the required maintenance? Thanks.

It sounds like the cleaning unit has reached the end of its life. Have you tried updating to the latest firmware yet? You can find it on epson's website here:
http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/support/supDetail.jsp?BV_UseBVCookie=yes&oid=14412&prodoid=19302856&infoType=Downloads&platform=All
If you need further assistance let me know.
Thank you,
Lee

Maintenance required 0040 code

Hello.

Your error code means the Pump/Cap/Cleaning assembly has reached the end of its life and will soon fail. This is a major replacement part and it is typically more cost effective to replace your printer rather than repair.

You can continue to print, but soon you will experience leaking ink, damaged hardware and poor prints.

Hope this helps.

My printer prints well, but with a displayed problem

This indicates that the Pump motor operation count has reached its limit. The remedy is to Perform Maintenance Mode 2 [CLEAR COUNTERS / CLEANER]

Epson Pro 7600 Service required error

Service required mean waste ink counter overflow. You need to reset it. SSC Service utility don't work with this type. The resetter is not for free, it's commercial. Only some distributor have it.

Service required error 0001002d

This happens when you let the "maintenance req. 0040" go for to long. The machine turns itself of to prevent damage.

Solution: Call epson and they will give you the reset code. Cannot find these codes online so if you do call please post instructions

Epson Pro 7600 Service required error

You need to be able to clear the counters in the printer that tell the printer to stop working.
In order to do that you must

1. Turn printer off
2. you must hold down the "Paper Source, Paper Feed, Select Feed, Cut/Eject" buttons all at the sime time while you turn the printer back on.
3. From there navigate through the menues to clear the counter that pertains to you or all.
(Error 00000101 is pertains to the print head motor)

Word of warning -
Those counters can be a pain as they cause the printer to stop working however you do need to get your printer serviced by a tech as soon as you can because the error is a warning, reset the counters lets you finsih a job, but if it goes unserviced too long it will actually break down all togther.

So even after you rest the counters you absolutly must get your printer serviced soon.
