Does the mute symbol appear anywhere on the radio? If not it may be something internal, like the signal processor's gone bad. What model is it? does turning up the volume help? If it's aftermarket, it may have a reset button behind the faceplate.

My Sony CDX-M610 will play radio but not CDs

THE CDX-M610 LIKE ALL OF THE CDX-M630, M800, M850MP SHOULD ALL SIMPLY START TO PLAY THE CD WHEN INSERTED. BECAUSE YOU ARE ABLE TO TUNE RADIO STATIONS AND HEAR THEM PLAY SHOWS THAT YOU HAVE EVERYTHING IN PLACE AND ARE DOING EVERYTHING RIGHT. SO IF IT IS NOT PLAYING, THEN IT WILL NEED TO BE SERVICED. AS FOR THE REMOTE, IT IS NOT REQUIRED OF ANY OF THE CD PLAYERS IN ORDER TO PLAY CD OR TUNE RADIO STATIONS. RATHER THAN INVEST IN REPAIRING, I WOULD LOOK FOR ANOTHER MODEL ON EBAY USED AS IT WILL PROBABLY GO PRETTY CHEAP. ALSO HAVE CHANCE TO GET A HIGHER MODEL LIKE THE ONES I MENTIONED ABOVE. I HAVE SEVERAL OF EACH IN MY COLLECTION AND THERE ARE NICE PLAYERS. OK. HOPE THIS HELPS.....V

Stanton st150 spindle

Yes that's normal since the spindle leans of a thin metal plate , which you simetimes had to lubricate. Check if one ain't pushed don a bit (remove backplate of motor cap in the unit, four screws and lubricate it with thinker paste, since it has no storage zone, the same fault that technics has. And hit the plate it the middle, if it ain't flat anymore( not to hard to begin with and stop when it's flat. Push against the spindel and check that everything moves free.then check the tiny imbuss that keep the inning wheel at its's place , if you had easy movement, then it was loose , soo screw it a bit loose , hold the spindle from above and push it straight up and tied in thisosition. check if everything i s free again and close everything and screw it together, But a bit height differences doesn' t matter, why would it?as long everything runs free, they need to have space, so after these checks and lubriication which you have to do allways once a year at least and heavy stratcher more, but they din't use stantonJust relax

My pioneer avh-p5000 wont unmute. I have already pulled the faceplate off and reset it by pressing the reset button and when I turned it back on it was still muted. It doesent matter what source it is on....

  • Hello and thank you for the opportunity to assist you.

  • Are you getting any errors numbers? Any special icons on the screen? Cables hooked up properly?

  • Have you tried just turning the volume up to see if the mute removes itself? I know you press the knob to mute it but turn the volume up to increase the volume.

  • When you reset the radio did you follow these steps exactlly?

  1. Ignition off first.
  2. Then remove the front panel.
  3. Now engine on.
  4. Now press and hold the reset button for 5 seconds.
  • If your steps were different try this first. If they were the same then you need to reset the entire unit not just the processor.

  • To do a master reset the unit must loose power for a couple minutes. In other words unhook the power or remove both battery cables for two minutes and try it again. Make sure to have any codes you need handy before doing this procedure.

  • Let me know how you do with these steps. If it takes care of you please do rate and comment.

Regards,Tony

Cannot "unmute' -volume control

First, check the connections and make sure you have everything plugged in correctly. Restart the PC...try clicking on the icon again...if that doesn't work, post back and we'll try to figure it out.

The radio screws holding the radio are not tight enough. to eliminate this problem remove the radio and adjust the pressure screw in the rear of the radio so it comes out farther>. if the radio is not far enough in the compartment to push in that button the radio controls will not work
