Make certain all speakers are good the cables are not damaged and there are no bad connections causing a short.
If that doesn't clear it you may have a shorted part, such as a transistor in the amp section.

New kenwood kdc-mp242 installed turns on but no sound

The Blue/White wire, Brown wire, and Blue wire???? These don't have to be connected unless you are using a separate Power Amp...if you are, then the Blue/White wire needs to be used to switch on the power amp. Here is a link to Kenwood for your KDC-MP242 Instruction Manual. Reference page 16.

What is the dark blue wire comming from my kenwood kdc-516s deck?

It is probably the remote amp wire or power antenna wire. you can check by hooking up a volt meter set on 12 volts DC and see if there is power when you turn on the unit

Which wire is my amp power wire on a kenwood kdc-x617

hey mate,

You will need to run independent power and ground wires for the amp, then run your RCA leads from your headunit to your amp, the trigger wire to turn your amp on and off with the headunit is the pink and black wire in the kenwood wiring harness...

Hope this helps

Brad:)

Kenwood KDC-138: Removed Old stereo, installed new KDC-138, I'm getting power to the plug that plugs into the back of the unit & fuse is good. I've tried pushing the reset button. Nothing comes up on...

do you have power at both supplys on the wire harness?( red and yellow) red wire will have power with the key on. Also make sure your ground is hooked up right.

Kenwood KDC-MP538U - no sound.

My issue was that I didn't have the blue "amp" wire hooked up and I had a factory amp.

if there is no amplifier separate from the radio - the blue /white wire from the back of the radio goes to the solid blue wire on the harness attached to the car's plug. the orange wire is not supported by the kenwood radio, so make sure you tape it well- if your not using a separate amp also tape up the blue/white wire coming off the harness you have coming out of the harness to the car. if this helps you please give me a good rating- if not please e-mail me at Merle840@aol.com respectfully M.
