I'm going to assume you are using a Windows operating system if you are using Windows media player. Windows media player does not come with the ability to burn or rip dvds. If your computer came with a dvd burner installed it should have also come with the burning software. You need to look for software labeled "Nero" or "Roxio" or another name that alludes to the fact that it will burn your dvds for you. Most of the software is pretty user friendly and if you need help using it you can just Google the software name and what your problem is and you can usually find an answer.
Now the tricky part is getting the video to a format that will allow you to burn it to dvd AND be played through a standard dvd player.
In order for your video file to be played in a standard DVD player it will need to be encoded in the MPEG-2 format. You will need software to do this for you. An excellent program would be "DVD Flick"
LifeHacker has put out an excellent tutorial explaining how to use DVD Flick here:
It seems as though you are burning the downloaded youtube videos directly to a CD/DVD and trying to play them back on your DVD.I also deduce that your DVD player does not support playback of data discs.
To play back such videos on your DVD, you must use a software that will encode them to the appropriate format and medium of choice, e.g. a Video DVD or Video CD(VCD or SVCD standard).
Check out Microsoft's Nero Burning Kit from http://www.nero.com/.This software supports encoding of video files to VCDs and DVDs.
Another tool that you might find useful is the famous DVDVideosoft Free Studio from http://www.dvdvideosoft.com/.It supports many video formats and I suggest you download the full studio. The download is approximately 56MB in size.
A much better product that I would advice you to use is ConvertXtoDVD.The tool isn't free, but it's results are simply mind-blowing.It also supports multi-threaded, multi-core and multi-processor(SMP) processing.Get it from http://www.vso-software.fr/products/convert_x_to_dvd/download-convertxtodvd.php
Have a great time ahead.
if you have cyberlink or nero on your desktop double clik on it and select the type of disc either cd or dvd then click on copy if you want to copy but most of the films you buy today are copyrighted so you cant copy them...if you want to burn a downloaded film clik on add files or folders try files then select documents then select downloads then double clik on the film you want to burn and it will load into screen then put in blank dvd then select next then select burn....hope this helps...bonnell
Open up Samsung Media Studio and on the left hand side, you should see a table. Connect the S3 via USB to the computer. Above the table on the left hand side, you should see 4 icons. Press the one that looks like a reel of film. Then drag and drop your video clip you want to put on (note: If you can not open it in Windows Media Player you can't encode it for use on the S3. Use SUPER from erightsoft to convert if you can not open it in Media Player). There should be a button down the bottom right to start the encoding. The encoding process is slow, but it should work.
3) Now open uTorrent and go to FILE > ADD TORRENT . Point to the above file you had downloaded of 50Kb in ur desktop. Now your torrent will start downloading the NERO DVD 8. its size is 1GB. It will take 4/5 hours on averge broadband internet connection.
4) Write me back once download started, i will give you original Nero DVD cdkey for free.
There might be a lense problem in your cd dvd writer,if you are burning dvds check whether it is combo or dvd writer, because combo drive only reads dvd but not burning...
or attach your writer to any other system to know whether there is a problem with your writer or with your burning software.
if it runs ok with other system ,means there is a problem with your burning software i.e nero 8...
------------------------------------------- low feed backs hurt my ratings and I am tring to help you with your problem,so let me know that the information i given you is helpfull or not Regards :
There might be a problem with your dvd lense of your dvd burner, sometimes it happen when the burner software dont recognise cd or dvd..also i would like to suggest you to use original burner software for burning cd dvd's...sometimes it also happen that the burning software dont burn certain types of audio or video files.for eg nero 6 dont convert .vob files to convert.
------------------------------------------- Please let me know your feed-back.
it all depends on wot u used to burn it, and wot type of dvd player u have, there r diff ways to get it to play, on a normal dvd player u will either need to encode the movie file into a vcd and put it on a cd or encode to dvd format and burn it onto a dvd using programs like nero or roxio
