Could be it is not seated properly. The RAM slots are a tight fit. You need to have the end levers locked in place. It will only go in one way. The notch in the card is offset.
If you've done all that, then you might have had an electrical discharge while handling the RAM. Major computer stores (Best Buy) will test your ram for free.

Try to insert the memory/ram into other memory slots on the computer. Also, try to get an eraser and erase the part of the memory that is being inserted. If it still does not recognize it, then you may need to replace the memory.

How can I change my Ram from 2 Gb to 4 Gb? Thanks in advance

It's pretty easy when you get your new DDR2 PC2-5300 RAM, just open the access panel on the bottom of your laptop. There will be several screws remove those and pop open the access. Now you should see your RAM there will be to springs retainers on each side of both your installed memory. Touch something metal to remove any static charge from yourself. Now Carefully push the retaining springs away from the RAM, it will pop up slightly. To install remember how you took the old one's out put the connector in first and slowing lay it back down towards the flat position make sure that it is seated all the way and the spring retainers snap around it to hold it in place. Power on make sure your new RAM is recognized. If your laptop detected both your new RAM sticks then reinstall your cover to the bottom. Hope this helps.

Dell latitude wont read 256 megs of ram only 128

The c600 can handle up to 512MB of RAM, so it's likely one of your RAM sticks is bad or not seated correctly. Are you using two 128MB sticks? Remove the stick from the second slot and turn on the computer with only one stick installed, and see if the RAM is recognized. Then take that RAM out and try the computer with only the other RAM stick -- if either is not recognized, that stick is bad.

If both are recognized, try reinstalling both RAM sticks and see if the computer will recognize them. If not, make sure they are both seated properly. You may have a problem with the second RAM slot if it is still not recognized. If you have access to other RAM, try that too and see if it is recognized.

Upgrading ram on laptop, new ram not recognized.

remove the bios battery for a few seconds...and place it back on ...this will make it see the new ram memory modules...if you are sure they are compatible ..they will work .....in fact ..the ddr1 333 512 M is more that compatible with your system and it will work after you remove the battery ...\ my recommendation is to reinstall a clean operation system after you boot up ...and format the C partition too...this have to be done after memory changes to get the max out of them ..

Dell Dimension 4600 desktop memory upgrade

well first the mother board needs to be capable of handleing that much memory you can check that by going to the dell website and checking the specs on that model pc or mother board if the bios isn't recognizing it the chances are it won't but take out the 512 stick and just try one of the 1Gig if it does recognize that then try the second stick if it doesn't recognize them both then chances are it can't handle that much memory.

My computer only recognizes 224mb of ram but it has 512mb installed what can i do?

Assuming that you have (2) 256mb installed, it appears that one is not seated correctly or not working. Remove and reinstall both chips

Have a -problem getting my gateway to boot and recognize a new 1g pc3200 ram card? what am i doing wrong?

1.It's low density ram, right? (Unbuffered, Non-ECC) The chip configuration is 128MB x 64?

2.When you installed it. The AC adapter was removed, (Charger), and the battery? (If you didn't the ram is fried)

3.You inserted the ram stick, (Module, correct speak), at a 45 degree angle, the pins were lined up, and when you pressed the module down, the locks on BOTH sides clipped into place?
Uninstall, and reinstall the ram again. Doesn't hurt, and only takes a few minutes. (MAKE SURE there is NO electricity to the laptop!)

After reinstalling the ram, reboot the laptop. Sometimes it takes 2 to 4 times before BIOS will recognize the new ram. This is semi rare, but it does happen.

If nothing avails, then you have the wrong ram for your laptop PERIOD! (Hope you didn't get it off of Ebay!)
Try using Crucial.com

Intel D875PBZ MB - RAM limit with AGP Video Card Installed

Sorry as far as I know and experienced all 32 bit XP and Vista will only recognize up to 3,4 GB of ram and no more. whether its dual channel or not.
You will have to go to a 64 bit O/S to use it.
Even then there are limits some 64 bit O/S will only use 4 GB others more

Laptop freezes

First thing you should do is Flip it over and check the fan/s are they Dirty??Clean em.. with compressed air, or I suggest if theyre really dirty, have a professional clean the entire inside...

If it isnt getting internet, Uninstall and reinstall Network adapter from your Device Manager....and possibly uninstall Drivers for your wireless and reinstall..

Also check your RAM, try reseating it...If there are 2 cards ..try removing one/then the other-booting up in between, because it might be a Bad piece of RAM
