You do not need any special tools to assemble the pusher into the rails, however there is a trick to getting the spring in the proper position. I use a small pair of vice grips and a paper clip to hold the spring in position. The pusher slides into the rails easily. The back part of the pusher slides into the rails first. On the back part of the pusher there is a groove that accepts the spring, spring spool and pin. The pin will be in a vertical position and the spring will have the end tab with hole towards you. As you push this assembly into the rails you will loose sight of the spring end tab. You must hold the spring end tab at the bolt hole while you push in the assembly. This is done by bending the paperclip straight with very small hook on one end. Hook paperclip on spring tab hole and hold paperclip with vicegrip to position spring tab hole at bolt hole and push assembly all the way into rails untill it locks at rear or rails. This procedure can be varried with goal of holding spring tab at bolt hole. While holding tab in position insert rails into nose of gun and bolt rails. Just leave paper clip hook end there or pull out it does not matter. You are done. Good luck

Not at all the way to do it. I have several of these guns. The correct way is to remove the the charging handle and spring from the magazine. ( the spring attaches to the laft side of the gun). The bolt hole there is a "C" shape not a round hole. attach the spring to the gun using the screw, but do not tighten it. place the gun on the ground and push the magazine into place while pulling ever so slightly back on the charging handle until the magazine is seated and the nail carrier is inside the tip. Tighten the screw then put the guard and screw into the other side. BINGO ! ITS DONE and workiing properly. ... RayRay

There is always more than one way to achieve a goal. When answering questions on this fourm, I try to answer in a way that it might help others (as many people as possible ) working on different models /brands of nailers and in this case, there are after market rails that do not have the slot but a hole in front making your method impossable. As you can see there are hundreds if not thousands of people needing help with problems that I am sure you can contribute to. Keep up the good work!

How to replace a cylinder ring in a hitachi nr83a

If you are going to replace the cylinder ring I would recommend getting the service kit (Part #18000) and replacing all the o-rings.
I'm assuming you have already taken it apart this far but if not:
Remove the 4 hex bolts on the cap and remove the head.
Using 2 of the bolts - thread them into the inserts on the top cylinder ring and use them to twist it off.
The cylinder and piston should 'pop' up under spring pressure from below.
Using an o-ring pick, remove the o-rings and thoroughly clean the tool - replace the o-rings and the bad cylinder ring. Lubricate the new rings with the grease provided and reassemble.

Zoo kids fishing pole. The string got all tangled up inside so I took it apart but there are metal pieces I didn't see now I can't figure out how it's suppose to be put back together.

find the parts list on the internet first off. You just look and see what make and or type, modle, etc reel it is or was lol. But when you see the diagram of the parts that are used to build that reel. You should see how each part goes togeather and usealy has arrows that show what order each part goes in if thee are moer than one part that connect togeather. Remember just look up what reel you have and search for that reel with diagram. Or just search for the parts for it and it may have a diagram just pop up for you.

Two nails jammed in the hitachi NR83A how do I get them out

The only way that I have been able to remove really stuck driver is to remove the head and cylinder so that you can place the body of the gun against piece of wood (this will prevent the head from cracking) with nose of gun pointing up. Then Use a broken driver blade ground narrower to allow for stuck nail to pass and strike with large brass hammer.

New Hitachi NR83A2 with jambed nails.

Removing jambed driver can be very difficult. I use an old hitachi driver with some metal removed at the tip to drive in the jambed piston. I grind the used driver slighty to allow for the jammed nails to pass the driver i am using for ram otherwise the old driver will jam up also. To protect head and cylinder from damage I remove them and set to side. Place body of gun on soft wood and hammer old driver blade with heavy copper or brass hammer. Good luck

Air leaking aroung the trigger assembly from my Hitachi NR83A

if you took the trigger apart the part that you unscrew has a nylon ball and a black rubber ring you should check them and make sure that you didn't loose them when you took it apart,if they are there, then you need to service the gun, and after you clean all the moving part and you put it back together, it may still leak from the top,Take a rubber hammer and give it a good hit,now not to hard, and it should seal

it goes under the side where the follower is, you will need to remove the cover on that side and pull back the follower, you will see the slot where it rides, also there was a spring that pushes it out of the way. I suggest going to for a parts breakdown. Let me know if I can help further.

My gun fires but only loads the nail 20-30% of the time. I tried taking it apart but don't know where to look for the problem. Please help!

The problem will reside in the nail chamber. Most likely you have junk there or a scored feed area. Check the plunger and feed area for dirt and/or scoring to determine what exactly is holding up your advancing of strip nails.

My nail gun hitachi nr83a2 only fires a nail half way

the blade assemblies for the A and A2 are the same.

the pison bumper should not be attached to the driver, if the bumper is moving around inside the gun i suggest checking to make sure it was properly seated when the gun was reassembled. if it was, i suggest ordering a new bumper.

a cracked bumper will usually cause a broken driver.
