Question about Samsung CLP 300 Laser Printer

1 Answer

Printer does not work. No paper jam, all toner is fine. I have opened and closed all doors, turned on and off, disconnected and reconnected. Using the local troubleshooting indicates that no problem is found.

PUshing the orange "go" button does not give me a green light or any action. The orange light is on, showing that there is power, but no printing.

  • bburchfield Aug 05, 2010

Pushing the orange button does not change the situation at all. I got a solid orange light, with no reaction to a print job at all.

I'll try downloading the driver and see what happens. I have disconnected and connected it several times, so hopefully the driver will be the solution.

Have you checked your computer's printer settings to make sure that the pc is recognizing your printer? Is the printer set to default printer? Have you tried updating the drivers and or software?

I used it this morning to print some letters, etc. When I got back from lunch, it had decided to take the rest of the day off.

It is the default printer. I have been using it for three years. Would I need to update the software?

I would definately try and update the drivers first. Then if needed, the software. I have seen these cause this problem. Don't use a installation cd, they are not up to date. You can download this stuff for free from the manufacture's website.

Double check the USB cord. It may be loose. Try unconnecting it and re-connecting it. The computer should re-recognize it when it is plugged in again.

  • bburchfield Aug 05, 2010

Cords are fine, but there is no recognition or beep when I plug back in.

  • Nate Stansfield
    Nate Stansfield Aug 05, 2010

One other thing you could try is:
Turn printer off with power button.
After it is completely off, remove the power cord from printer.
Leave it unplugged for at least 10 full minutes.
Then plug it back in, press and hold the stop button for 3-5 seconds.

    Nate Stansfield Aug 05, 2010

If there is no recongnition when you plug in your printer, that means your drivers are out of date and it is not communicating with your pc

  • bburchfield Aug 05, 2010

How can that happen when I have been using it every day for three years, and did this morning? I'm dowloading now, but that just doesn't make sense to me.

  • bburchfield Aug 05, 2010

I am downloading the driver, and it says it will take another hour to complete. Am I doing something wrong? The whole CD installation took about 10 minutes.

  • bburchfield Aug 05, 2010

I tried the of/on hold down the stop button. The green light came on, but immediately went to orange and the functional noises stopped.

  • Nate Stansfield
    Nate Stansfield Aug 05, 2010

It shouldn't take that long unless their server is really busy.. That could be.

  • bburchfield Aug 05, 2010

After going to Samsung's site and requesting the updated driver, sitting for an hour, etc., I got a notification that the file was corrupt, and I need to request a new file.

If I just install the old driver again, what happens? Since it was working just fine this morning, would it not work properly again with the same driver?

  • bburchfield Aug 05, 2010

Is there another source for drivers? I need to find another way to do this, since the Samsung file is corrupt.

You sent me some links to other places where I could get the print driver. They all lead me back to the same place with the corrupted executable file.

    I give up.

ESP5200printer,new,paper jam message

Hi slicknick58,

Paper jam message occurs when there are stuck papers inside the printer. There are several ways on how to correct this problem, either you remove the visible stuck paper manually or replace the toner or ink cartridge. Below are the steps you'll want to follow when this problem still occurs.

1. Turn off the printer. Turn the printer off and on to see if it can automatically clear some or all of the jam.

2. Inspect the location or tray the printed paper ejects to. If the stuck paper is visible manually remove it. Remove any paper trays. Inspect them for wrinkled or damaged paper.

3. Open the printer door that allows you access to the printer ink cartridges or toner and look for any stuck paper. If the stuck paper is visible manually remove it.

4. If necessary, remove the toner or ink cartridge. Place it in a bag or away from light to avoid damaging it.

5. If you find a piece of jammed paper, remove it by holding it with both hands and pulling firmly. The goal is to keep the paper from tearing. If several pieces are jammed together, try pulling out the middle piece first to loosen the jam.

6. If the paper does tear, try rotating the roller gears manually to free the paper . Don't force anything.

7. Replace the toner or ink cartridge and paper trays, close any doors you opened and turn the printer back on.

8. If the printer paper jam message still appears, then there is still some paper in the printer. Reinspect the paper path and try repeating the above steps again.

Hope it helps.

THE hp 3800 IS READING A PAPER JAM HOWEVER THERE IS NO JAM.

Hi

It is likely that there is a paper jammed that can be found in the rear paper tray, paper feeder roller, inside the toner cartridge compartment and in rear back door of the printer. Inspect this places and look for paper jammed.

Remove the USB cable into the printer and leave the printer on.
Remove all the cartridges.
Close the cartridge door and wait for the INSERT CARTRIDGE MESSAGE APPEAR.
Disconnect the power cable and from the power source supply.
Wait for couple of minutes.
Reconnect power cord and turn on the printer.
Return all the cartridges and close the door. .
Print the test page to check if it working.

Hi there,

1. Disconnect the power printer power cable.
2. Open the panel of the toner and take out toner.

It should work fine now.

Our printer is not picking up the paper from the tray and is saying it is jammed. There is not jam.

Hi there !

Is your printer had jammed before and it stop printing in the middle of printing? For some reasons, paper can jammed due to printing interruptions, printer turn off, improper loading or feeding of paper, roller feeder had problem and others.

If jams before and paper have let inside the printer, please do the following first:

1. Check th paper tray, see inside if the paper is jammed inside that compartment. If there is paper jammed, remove, turn off your printer and turn on. This will solve your problem.

2. If not, open the printer cartridge door, remove the toner cartridge and look for paper jammed inside. If these is paper inside, remove it, turn off the printer and turn it on.

3. If you cannot see the paper jammed inside, the paper maybe inside the heating area. To remove paper, just turn off your printer and turn it on to roll over the paper jammed inside of it.

4. If the printer is blinking and saying there is paper jammed. You have to check the cartridge toner by opening the cartridge door, remove the cartridge and return it back but be sure it is well firmly fitted.

If following the 4 diagnostic procedure and you cannot locate the jammed paper, the problem lies on the toner cartridge itself. When toner cartridge is not rolling over, it will stop feeding the paper and it will cause printer to jammed.

To diagnose the problem, put old printer cartridge and if no toner power, just shake it well and I am sure there is still small amount of powder inside it and if it prints, the toner cartridge you purchase is defective. Reason, factory defect or improper refilling and part is not working well.

I hope it is helpful and thank you for using FixYa !

Cannot clear paper jam on L7580.

give this a try
try this, its probably a small part of jammed paper or then theres a problem with the pickup, try cleaning it.

  1. Turn off the printer.
  2. Remove any paper trays. Inspect them for wrinkled or damaged paper.
  3. Also open the back cover of the printer if this model has one.
  4. Open any other doors that give access to the printer's paper path and to the toner or ink cartridge.
  5. If necessary, remove the toner or ink cartridge. Place it away from light/ sun light to avoid damaging it.
  6. If you find a piece of jammed paper, remove it by holding it with both hands and pulling firmly. The goal is to keep the paper from tearing. If several pieces are jammed together, try pulling out the middle piece first to loosen the jam.
  7. If the paper does tear, try rotating the roller gears manually to free the paper. Don't force anything, though. Do this step especially if the jam message comes up repeatedly without any obvious paper jam, there may be a small tear of paper inside.
  8. Ones the printer is free of paper Replace the toner or ink cartridge and paper trays, close any doors you opened and turn the printer back on.
  9. If the printer paper jam message still appears, then there is still some paper in the printer. Reinspect the paper path.
  10. see alternative if the problem is still not solved.

alternative :
Load a piece of thick paper, for example photo paper and press the resume button (may be diffrent button on diffrent models) a few times to the printer picks up the paper and puts it through the machine.

Paper jam 11

Step1
Turn the printer off and on to see if it can automatically clear some or all of the jam. Many printers provide an error-code listing on the front panel display for the area where the jam occurred. If your printer shows an error code, be sure and check the printer manual to see if that identifies the area of the printer where the jam occurred.
Step
2
Turn off the printer.
Step
3
Remove any paper trays. Inspect them for wrinkled or damaged paper.
Step
4
Open any other doors that give access to the printer's paper path and to the toner or ink cartridge.
Step
5
If necessary, remove the toner or ink cartridge. Place it in a bag or away from light to avoid damaging it.
Step
6
If you find a piece of jammed paper, remove it by holding it with both hands and pulling firmly (see A). The goal is to keep the paper from tearing. If several pieces are jammed together, try pulling out the middle piece first to loosen the jam.
Step
7
If the paper does tear, try rotating the roller gears manually to free the paper (see B). Don't force anything, though.
Step
8
Replace the toner or ink cartridge and paper trays, close any doors you opened and turn the printer back on.
Step
9
If the printer paper jam message still appears, then there is still some paper in the printer. Reinspect the paper path.
