One bad lead can cause a computer to continue on a cycle or to shutdown or fail to detect your hard drive boot up

test all leads that attach to your hard drive including electrical extensions SATA

the leads from your ((motherboard to your hard drive)) make sure they have a secure connection and are not faulty or just replace them they could be faulty

make sure all leads that are attached to your drives dvd\cd have secure connections and are not faulty or just replace them they could be faulty ?

even something as small as an electrical extension or a faulty fan lead can cause this problem computer needs all of the data and power to travel through every working device and to have an end for a computer to be able work properly:

a motherboard and a hard drive any leads between them will fail before your motherboard or your hard drive check all electrical extensions make sure they are securely seated even the cd/dvd drives need to have current go through make sure these devices are working

could be a dirty graphics card you might have remove the graphics card and clean the socket

also check your computer ram and cmos battery to make sure they are securely seated and the battery has plenty of charge:
hope this helps you

The dv6000 series was commonly affected by the video card heating up and reseating itself. This was usually a soldering issue. You have a few options, You can either replace the motherboard, or have the motherboard reflowed. Unfortunately the video card itself is not detachable or individually replaceable.

I personally would recommend the second option as purchasing another dv6000 board will likely end you up in the same situation a year or 2 later.

A repair / reflow services on ebay
Dv6000 Repair

This repair tech only does amd processor models, Not intel.

Hope this helps.

When i start it doesn't start sometimes. sometimes it starts but after a few secs a noise comes and system switches off

There's a similar problem with the DV6000 that is caused by the built in graphics card overheating and telling the computer bios to turn it off and stop it overheating the whole motherboard. unfortunately once this has happened the system can stop the laptop booting even from cold. I've temporarily fixed a couple of them by removing the CMOS battery for 24 hours and puttin a shim between the graphics card and the heat sink. In the end you're probably need a new motherboard though

Windows vista is unable to format DVD+R and with a other burner program I get the following error: 19:17:00, File(cl_DVDData.cpp), Line(193) -> Begin burning process Current drive: <G:...

have had this problem myself and wasted many discs you need a new burner but there is a work around to this problem

just leave the disc open so that more data can be added and no more problems

How can I tell if my HP Pavillion dv6000 can burn DVDs? I tried to with DVD Flick but the dvd came out blank after 3 hours of supposed burning.

Try creating a normal CD-R for example just a picture using windows transfer which is simply double clicking your CD drive icon in my computer dragging a picture on to it then burn the files should be on the left, if so then your burner should be fine. I Would suggest using NERO to burn DVD's

Laptop Pavillion DV6188eu doesn't start up

From what you are describing, the motherboard has failed. I would however like you to try a couple of things though. First remove the hard drive and see if the computer will go to the BIOS screen. If it does not, then the Motherboard has definately died. If you can get to the BIOS, then you might consider a hard drive failure, or your windows installation is so corrupt, it is causing this problem. I would however lean toward a bad MOBO....seems this model, the DV6000 and the DV9000 have serious cooling issues and tend to burn their mobos up. HP recently started updating the BIOS files for these models so the fans and processor run more efficiently to keep the laptop cooler.
