Question about Cell Phones
The freezing of your phone indicates that the operating system on the phone is jammed up,this might be as a result of an internal virus in the phone or due to overloading the Random operating memory.
The solution is to flash the firmware of the phone, this requires high skill and the use of a specialized software compatible with your phone.
This restores your phone back to a normal working condition.
With regards to the locking of the phone, the only way you can use the phone with another network such as vodafone,is to contact your service provider(telstra) and request for the unlock code of your phone which will be given to you for free.
Thanks and good luck!!!!

Save hours of searching online or wasting money on unnecessary repairs by talking to a 6YA Expert who can help you resolve this issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.

If you knew it was locked then you should know that you will need to pay to have it unlocked - unless you are 100% SURE that code that you have "seen" will work for your particular phone (they are randomly generated by Samsung and apply to one phone - i.e. one particular IMEI - only).
Look at this webpage for more info.
You could, however, try the following (which, in mid-September last year, worked for one very happy punter!):
First there is the temporary followed by the permanent (BOTH required, in order)...
Temporary - Enter the following on the keypad:
Let it reboot (restart) and then it's ready for the permanent code:
Then press ENTER followed by
You can then enter *#7465625# to check the locks....all locks should be inactive.
Here are all the locks...
network lock - inactive
subset lock - inactive
sp lock - inactive
cp lock - inactive
sim lock - inactive
activa lock - inactive
phone lock - inactive
auto network - inactive
auto subset lock - inactive
auto sp lock - inactive
auto cp lock - inactive
auto sim lock - inactive

I have unlocked phones and i think the best way to get your phone unlocked depending on the provider is with a simple unlock code.
Ther are sites like unlocktotalk.com and lockpop.com that offer codes a a goo price.
Most solutions the do a hardware unlock on the phone and replace the firmware with an exploited firmware just have to many problems and are very hard to accomplish. You will brick your phone if your not careful.
Taking the phone to an experienced tech would be wise, considering the cost of a new phone or a repair to fix a screwed up phone.
As for what to do with your phone now, if you want some help explain what you have done and maybe it can be reverse by someone who knows how.
