That single beep you hear is called P.O.S.T. Power on self test, telling you the board is fine. Your sound not funicationg is another story. The onboard sound (ALC655/ALC658 from RealTech) Must be enabled in your bios. How to enter my bios?
At power on press the delete key every two seconds & the main menu for the bios will open. You know you are in the right place because the time 7 date settings are listed. The online manual does not show any detail for your bios settings so guiding you is not going to help me, help you. How to move around in your bios? (No mouse & thats normal). Look at the bottom of the screen for instruction on how to move about. You need to find Advanced (Heading). In side advanced you should be able to fine audio settings. Your audio must be set to Enable or On. Again look to the bottom of the menu for instructions on how to move about. After setting the audio to enable Save & Exit the bios. The PC will restart by its self.
After windows finishes loading you can load the Biostar CD into your CD-ROM. It's splash screen should load. Click Drivers & install your (ALC655/ALC658), drivers. You can also download the drivers from this link & click Run.
RealTech has another updated driver at this link. (Click on the link & it will load the web site). http://www.realtek.cz/download.php?realtek=ALC250
After installing the software restart your PC & check your sound.
If after running the install files & restart you find no sound, you will have to try installing directly through device manager.
And that's another story!
Give it all a go & post back here if you need more tweaking.
