Sounds like a video memory problem. You may need to upgrade. Also be sure you have the latest version of silverlight installed.

When I play a movie on my xbox there is a grey box on screen

Hello there, sorry to hear about your issue. Usually this indicates that someone has hit the CLOSED CAPTION button or possibly the PIP (picture in picture) button on the TV remote. There is nothing wrong with the xbox, it is actually a setting on your TV. Check the remote to see how you can disable closed captions

I want to watch a movie on my DVD player so what channel should i be on to view the movie. Can hear the movie. Carl

Well is your DVD connected to your Tv by AV cables?
If so try looking for a "SRC" or something simular, which is Source. This changes from Normal tv channels to DVD/GAMES.

But you said you can hear the movie; maybe you put the Video In cable into the wrong port. I know my parents always do this and I have to fix it for them.

Download Movies Problem

the reason you are not able to hear the sound on a movie file is because you do not have the proper codec installed to decode the sound porton of the file.

solution: click link below. download and install the klite codec pack, it is simply all the codecs for movies and music you will ever need.
