Question about HP OfficeJet 6110 All-In-One InkJet Printer

1 Answer

Printing Problems Suddenly, my HP inkjet is stuck in some bizarre cycle. Here it is: #1 It instructs me to put in plain paper & push OK so it can align the page #2 I put in paper push ok #3 The paper starts to go through, stops, and I get the message "paper jam" (I was clearing it, but discovered I only have to push "OK" and the machine will push the paper unharmed #4 The message on the printer says to put in another piece of paper so it can align. However, I don't have to push the OK button -- It automaticlly takes in another piece of paper #5 But it stops halfway, says "Cancelling allignment," and keeps the cycle going. The same thing happens when printing a page. But at this point, I can't get it off "allignment." Any ideas? Judi

Thanks for the suggestion, but I'm not clear on your directions. When you write "press & hold # 3," what "#3" were you referring to? The actual number on the keyboard? Or the F3 button? Or the number 3 on the right-hand side of the keyboard, the one that also says "pg dn?" None of those options work. (And believe me, I tried).

Is there a number on the all-in-one printer that I'm not aware of?

Or did you mean one of the other buttons, such as "setup?"

I didn't understand the instructions. I posted a question, trying to clarify it, but so far haven't received an answer.

Can't select "Plain Paper" when printing from Excel (2008) on a Mac OS 10.6.2. From the Print dialog box, I select "Paper Type/Quality" and attempt to change the "Paper Type:" from "HP Premium Plus Photo"...

Hello, Jon.

There are some problems reported with the printer driver from the HP site, in case you obtained your drivers, there.

Go to the Apple website to obtain the driver and reinstall the driver.

Hope this helps.

Black ink not working

Print out a test print to see what comes out. If the printer is printing the black and colour blocks then the printer should be OK. If not then check the black and colour inks to make sure they are OK and remove each of the cartridges and reinstall them. Then run a full cleaning cycle and reprint the test sheet. Keep doing this until all the inks are printing OK. Then run an alignment test making sure that there is plain white paper in the paper tray and adjust the printer as necessary.

When I tryto print 5x7 prints from windows fax viewer my photosmart all in one model C4480 is printing the first 5x7 fine but the second 5x7 also has a small wallet size printed ontop of it

Solution one: Print on heavier paper Try printing on a thicker type of paper. Solution two: Check driver settings If printing on plain paper, make sure the driver settings are set to Plain Paper.
  1. To change the driver settings, click the Properties button in the Print window.
  2. If the Paper Type is not set to Plain paper, click the drop down box and choose More .
  3. Find and click Plain paper , then click OK .
  4. Click OK to return to the Print window and click OK to continue printing.

HP 1610 printer

It occurred to me when I was reading your post that photo paper has printing and non-printing sides. If the paper is loaded upside down, it's printing on the non-print side, which would result in what you're seeing. It's just a hunch, but you might want to consider it.

HP.com has a web page that will walk you through the process of checking on this and other potential problems.

Checking image quality problems

Hope this helps. Good luck.

Hi there sound to me like the toner cartridge is either faulty or leaking. Is it or has it been refilled if so remove cartridge vacuum out the insides of loose toner install brand new toner cartridge then test again. It cannot be the fuser unit as it will have quality problems all the time so try above and I hope it works for you.

Thanks J
