The Direct TV installer is on the way. What do I need to do to get this TV to receive HD? It says that it is HD Ready. Not sure what that means.

You dont have to do anything When your TV says it's HD ready it just simply means that it is waiting for your installer to run the HD signal to it through a cable. Then your TV is going to turn that signal into HD picture and audio. All you have to do is sit back and enjoy HD programing

Palsonic 1080p full hd tv resolution tv is not picking up digital channels. Other televisions in the house do. What could the problem be

If it is an older set, it may well be the tuner installed in it is not digital. Early sets were HD, but only supported HD on the direct inputs from devices such as DVD players. This is because the early sets were manufactured to support the need for HD resolution television, but the digital broadcast standard was not fully defined yet. Many of these sets were listed as "HD ready", meaning that with a set-top box from a cable provider they could support HDTV, since most boxes have HDMI direct output. Check the specs on the model you have and see if the tuner installed is truly a digital one.

Westinghouse 32' flat screen tv wont work with cox cable receiver

Hello
You haven't stated the type of signals that comes with your co-axial cable; analogue or digital. Anyway, you have to retune the TV after connecting it properly with Cox-Cable receiver with TV.

It is digital (HD), I don't need converter?

If your set is labeled as "HD ready" then it will accept HD signals from, for example, an external HD tuner or other source. The set can be HD Ready, as is my Samsung TV, but my set has only the older NTSC type tuner. I therefore use a digital stream HD tuner which works great to receive over the air signals. Also digital does not mean a set is HD. There are sets that are standard definition digital sets that can receive digital signals, but do not produce HD. If you are using cable, in most cases, you can continue receiving your cable as usual.

I have a Sharp Aquos LC-30HV4U which is supposedly HD ready. I am a Dish Network satellite subscriber. I do not know what to do to make this HD ready set receive HD signals.

Your reciver is already set for the hd. Alls satellite programing and cable already come in hd format. You can also get any info here.

No this TV is not HD ready. However it is digital (ATSC) ready meaning now that most of the analog brodcasts have stopped it will receive the digital broadcasts so you don't need a converter box. Since it can only display 480i resolution it is not HD ready. You would need a TV that can display 720p or better to be considered HD ready.

RF module related to Direct TV.

yes you can but the 2nd tv wont be in HD. The modulator can be purchased for any electronics store. what it does is turns a composite video signal (yellow, red, white cables) into a coax (screw in cable). it has an composite input that you would connect from the receiver and a coax output that you would connect to the other bedroom tv.

Your TV is an "HD-Ready" television. What this means is that your TV is ready to accept HD input from an outside source, but doesn't have the ability to produce the content itself. It is a monitor and does not have a digital tuner. Without a digital tuner (or for cable a QAM tuner) you will not receive OTA broadcast HD.

You need to purchase a High Definition capable set-top converter box. The converter box will have HD component out and may have HDMI out, either will feed your HD Ready TV.

The Hitachi 50UX57B is a 50 inch standard projection TV with a standard screen. It is not HD ready. If you need it, I think I can download the owner's manual (in PDF format) from Hitachi and foward it to you.
