I do believe there is a fuse on the back of the unit as well as internally. If you are getting power to the device, then most likely a fuse is blown. Hopefully the power board is not faulty

Little glass tube type fuse. They are called bus fuses.

  • jorged823 Aug 05, 2010

    ok thanks

Should see the glass bus fuse on the circuit board next to power supply which is attached to the plugin cable.
Not all of them have them. Some just have the outer fuse.
If the out fuse is good and there is no inner fuse and there is no power, it could be a bad power circuit board.

ok, no fuse inside unit at all. I put radio back together plug it back in and I got an image of what appeared to be main menu.. I tried any button to see if it would react to function, NOTHING. I have an image but no response.. I even tried to reset system now i dont have an image at all again....

Is there any connections or any way you can get a firmware upgrade for it? I know all electronics have firmware, they are factory designed that way. Many of them do have some way of updating the firmware which usually gets rid of any bugs or defects unless there is electronical failure like faulty capaictors, IC chips or resistors which transfer information across the unit.

Check the radio fuse located on radio circuit board. If the fuse is blown out then radio will not work.the radio needs to be disassembled to reach the circuit board.Get the exact radio fuse with same volt/amp.This radio fuses are easily available at local electronic hardware shops. Thanks. Keep updated for any more query. You can rate this solution and show your appreciation.

Turn key off and removed. Power stays on radio ,heater.

Hello? It sems that the wiring is not done properly. Make sure that the radio wiring is done correctly. We have 3 wires that are very important when it comes to radio wiring. We have vcc,acc and ground. Vcc has to connect to battery direct, this helps keep radio memory on all the time. acc goes to acc and this switches radio on and off when you turn the key. Ground goes to earth. The wiring harness color code depends on different radio makes and car makes as well but a professional should help you with this.

2002 s-10...radio lights, clock and progaming shows up but nothing when i turn volume up

If you mean no sound, could be speaker wires are dead, output to the speakers on the head unit could be dead, if your system is fully amplified, that wire could have come undone.

First question: Is it stock radio?
Second question: no aftermarket items added to the system?
Third question: you mean no sound?

If the answer to all these are yes, test your cigarette lighter to see if it works. If it does, it's most likely the head unit or the stock amp. If it doesn't work, check the ACC fuse, sometimes there is a radio one too. Your head unit has three "power wires" one is constant (Unit turning on, time, etc. The second is the "switch" wire. The third is the ground. I am wagering the switch wire has a separate fuse. Hope this helps!

What color wire from fuse panel to radio on 1989 Camaro

Base line radio,... Orange -hot all the time, Acc fuse ..-20amp. Yellow ,Hot -key on.. Radio fuse -10amp.... Delco, Bose system...Orange,-20amp ARC fuse..Hot all the time, Yellow, radio fuse, -10 amp, hot with key on. Your second orange wire powers your Amp Relay, in the Acc fuse,- 20 amp ..it has a constant hot, or power..so you might be getting power @ the Radio, but Nothing out the speakers.. Hope that helps..

Temporary wired a clarion px 3310 for car installation, all was ok so turned off @ the head-unit and proceeded to install stereo with permanent wiring. Now...stereo installed, switch power on...nothing,try...

Here is the breakdown of the steps that you should take to pinpoint the issue.
  1. The first thing you should do is check the fuse for the radio. then you want to check the ground wire. Most people would think that if its not powering up then it must be the power wire. Not always the case.
  2. After you ensure that there is a solid ground between the chassis and the stereo you are going to want to check your Battery positive wire (power). Best way to do this is to use a test light. one end is clipped to a ground and the other end is a needle like probe, remove the harness from the radio and find where the power wire is fed into on the harness and probe it and see if you get the bulb to light.
  3. If the bulb does not light up, the next step is would be to check over the wires and see if there are any bare wires or any shorts. If there are wire connections that are made by electrical tape, take them apart and use actual wire connectors.
  4. Have the ignition in ACC on while probing.
  5. The last thing I could tell you and not stress enough. Be very careful when you are in there, people just don't understand just how tied into a vehicles electrical system a stereo is.
  6. Good Luck.

DehP6700 mp restet everytime keys is turned on.

first red is ignition or acc (turns off and on with the key) yellow is constant power (always hot keeps memory) orange is illumination (lights up radio) if vehicle doesnt have a seperate illumination wire connect it to the ignition wire. now process of elimination your ground is correct because it worked with all wires to acc your acc works because u had all them connected to it and it worked your problem is in your yellow or constant/memory i suggest u test it again take piece of wire any old thing long enough will do and run the wire directly from the battery under the hood and just run it outside the car through the window and connect it directly to the yellow wire make sure u have a good connection at the battery on the positive side if u have test light or volt meter test the wire before connecting it to the radio if it works then u know there is a problem with the wire from the vehicle (fuse wrong wire bad wire ) if it doesnt work make sure ground is connected tight and that paint is cleaned of the surface where ground connects and that the yellow wire to the radio is tight in the back of the radio.

The first thing to do is to check if your power wire actually has power to it. Do this with a test light or a multimeter. Given that the wire is powered, check to make sure your ground is good. Modern cars have so much plastic in them that grounds may be hard to find. The next step is to check the rig's fuse. Make sure the microphone is plugged in, too. If none of this helps, your radio needs repair or replacement.

Radio not working

Have you made sure your power source has power?
Next check your inline fuse if it has one.
Make sure you do have a good ground.
If none of these solutions work you most likely have a bad system.
