Question about Brother Office Equipment & Supplies

2 Answers

Our printer is HL-4040CN Brother Color Laser Printer. Last week it had a message that said "toner waste". We went on with no problems. Today if asked us to replace 3 colors and we did. It asked us to replace the Magenta color so we did. It continued with the error message, so we bought another Magenta color and replaced it again, but we are still getting the message "Toner life end, replace Magenta cartridge." We are in the middle of our busiest season and our printer is crutial. Can you help?

Hello,

Remove the cartridges and check them for sign of damage, make sure the cartridges are firmly fitted into the printer.Check the socket which the cartridge will fit to see if it need cleaning, if so please clean it. If the problem still persist, reset the printer check the manual on how to reset the printer o try this, power off the printer and power on back, while the printer is warming up or loading, pull out the plug from AC wall, wait for some minutes and plug back. Power on to ee if it fix the problem.

Take care.

Hi! Please try this, unplug the unit from power source then turn it on for 10secs. while unplugged, this should reset the system. Remove the toners and shake it. Install the toner and plug the printer. Turn it on and see how it goes. Hope this helps and have a good one!

Waste toner full

You will need to replace the waste toner box on the Brother HL-4040CN. You can order the replacement from http://www.brothermall.com/Accessories/AccessoryDetail.aspx?AccessID=WT100CL&Model=HL4040CN&AspxAutoDetectCookieSupport=1 or your local supplier.

To replace the toner box, turn off the printer and open the front cover. Then remove the drum unit. Place the drum unit on a flat surface covered with newspaper or something else disposable to contain any loose toner. Then remove the belt unit carefully. (Hold the green parts and pull it up and then out.) Again place the belt on newspaper in case there is loose toner.

Now you can remove the waste toner box. Pull it out by the green handle. Discard of this properly.

Then put in the new waste toner box (by the green handle). Return the belt unit to the printer (line up the down arrow on the belt unit with the up arrow on the printer). Push it in and then push down on the green areas until it locks. Then replace the drum unit. (Make sure the grey lever is up when you start and then push it down to lock in the drum.) Line up the green guides on the drum unit with the green arrows on the printer. Close the printer and turn it on.

I hope this helps.

How do I change the toner cartridge on the hl-4040cn

really easy, open front door - there is little latch in the centre which you need to press, retrieve the tray - lift handle slightly up and then slide out, remove empty cartridge - lift it by the handle, at slight angle towards you, you do not need to change all cartridges at this same, only these which are empty.

reverse the procedure to insert new cartridge.

do not forget to empty or change waste toner!

i find actually this on brother site:

Can someone please help me i have just printed off 400 prints with my brother hl 4040CN laser printerits brand new and its now saying my cyan toner has ran out this is impossible i am right in the middle...

Your toner usage will depend upon how much of each color toner is used on each page. (To conserve colors when printing in Black and White only, specify monochrome in your printer setup) <div>I had similar problems when printing publicity flyers. The toner cartridges claim to be good for about 2000 prints each, but I was lucky to get 3 or 400 pages when printing blocks of color. The TN115 cartridges hold significantly more toner, and the cartridges that come with the printer are TINY.</div>

When printing i am getting red blotches Brother hl-4040cn

I had this same problem when printing photos. Go into printing preferences, then the Advanced tab up top.....make sure "Color Mode" has NONE selected. That lets the program you are using do the color management.

Hope that helps!!

Going through toners very quickly, new drums required?

so you use old drum which should be cost too much toner, because the older drum can not be charged normal voltage so that images on it will consume more toner on it, and more waste toner goes to the waste toner box.
change a drum ASAP.
hope help you fix it, please take a rating let me know how much helped you thanks! send any question in any time please.
