I hooked up a Cognitive CXI printer to our network via I.P. address, I can ping it. When trying to print a label to it, the 'ready' light flashes from green to red, printer beeps, light goes back to green... no label. Any thoughts ?

SOURCE: red & green flashing lights

Microsoft knows this is a problem with the connection to the board from the power cable to the disk drive. They cannot repair soldered points to the board. neither can't anyone else. I have been loking for someone to repair mines. The point at which the power cable connects to the board is lose and disconnected at certain points. Pretty much if this is your problem you need a new console. If thats your problem.

Amber light is flashing on network card

Switch off the printer, re connect the net work cable, switch on the machine & wait till ready mode comes.. Go to administration on control panel, select configure device, select configuration page, print,, total three print out will come, in that see the IP address.. If any IP address showing, ping that IP from system, if its pings, reload the drivers once again.. check for the print. If no IP adress showing in configuration page, try with another net work cable & try above said exercise.. Even no luck, remove formatter from the slot & re-fix once again & try... Even no luck.. it might be network port faulty. If its warranty contact HP support for free replacement.. If no warranty purchase HP620n or higher version of zetdirect card(net work card) install it... But take service engineers suggestion before replacing the network card..

Hi, when I try to print to a networked GK420t, it prints the first page then feeds two and a half labels and then flashes a red light. At which stage it completely loses network - pings time out.

The problem that you are facing can be resolved by doing a reset on the printer and then setup the printer on the network again. This will resolve the issue.

My printer (MFC-440CN) keeps going offline. It's hooked via Ethernet cable to my home network. If I disconnect/reconnect the cable it comes online again but after I print it goes offline again. Thanks...

First, try printing while the printer is directly connected to the computer to see if you will get the same behavior from the printer.

If the printer works fine when directly connected to the computer, reconnect the printer via the Ethernet cable and try to perform the "ping of death" (continues ping of the IP Address of the printer).

Using the continues ping, you will see if the communication between the computer and the printer is being interrupted or not. Here's how to perform the ping of death:

DOS Prompt > ping 10.71.x.x -t > hit enter.

On the DOS prompt, you need to type ping and then hit the space bar, followed by the IP address of the printer > space bar > minus t (-t) > Enter.

If the same problem occurs, then try to uninstall/reinstall the printer driver. If that did not help, try to clear the print spooler on your computer.

Good luck and have a great day!

PRINTER PRINTS ONE LABEL THEN DISPENSES 4 TO 5 MORE BLANK LABELS. UNABLE TO RESET WITHOUT TURNING UNIT OFF AND REWINDING LABEL ROLL. WE HAVE A COGNITIVE LX THERMAL PRINTER.

Printer needs calibrating. This can be accomplished through the printer driver under 'printing preferences' or the Cognitive Printer Setup Utility.

Kyocera 3035 will not print - NIC card red LED flashing

First turn the main Power Switch off, then unplug the network cable from the nic card and leave it unplugged. Then turn the machine back on, when it says ready to copy, press the printer button and print out a network status page. Then hook the network cable back up and go to a pc and click on start then control panel and look for printers and faxes and click on it, then right click on the Kyocera Printer Icon, then click on properties in the drop down then click on the port tab, then click on configure port and check the ip address and make sure it matches the one on the network status page, if it doesn't put in the correct IP Address and apply the change. But if the ip address is right just try printing again. If it prints ok then you are done but if it doesn't try this click on start then run and then type in cmd, then on the screen that opens up type in ping, then a space, then ip address of the Kyocera Machine then press enter, if the Nic card is connecting to the network you should get a reply from the Kyocera's Nic Card if you do then the Nic Card is ok and the Kyocera print driver may have to be deleted and then re-installed. Hope this helps.
