When garage door is activated to open the lights do not work. I have checked and replaced the lights but to no avail? Is it just a problem with the switch on my wall?

Lights should come on after it starts opening/closing the door. I would call Chamberlain tech support about this.

My lift master GDo motion sensor lights quit working.

If the motion sensor lights on your LiftMaster garage door opener have stopped working, and the suggested method of using the three-button wall control didn't resolve the issue, you can try the following troubleshooting steps:

  1. Check the Light Bulbs: Ensure that the light bulbs in your garage door opener are not burnt out or loose. Replace them if necessary. Use bulbs that are compatible with your opener and within the recommended wattage range.
  2. Check the Light Socket: Inspect the light socket for any damage or corrosion. Make sure it's clean and securely connected to the opener.
  3. Test the Motion Sensors Directly:
    • If your garage door opener has safety sensors (typically located near the floor on both sides of the door), check to see if they are aligned properly.
    • Make sure there is no debris, spider webs, or other obstructions blocking the sensors.
    • Clean the sensor lenses with a soft, dry cloth.
    • Check the sensor wiring for any damage or loose connections.
  4. Adjust the Light Timer:
    • Some garage door openers have a light timer setting that determines how long the lights stay on after activation. Check the timer setting and adjust it if necessary.
  5. Reset the Opener:
    • Sometimes, resetting the garage door opener can resolve issues. To reset, unplug the opener from the power source for a few minutes, then plug it back in. Test the motion sensor lights again.
  6. Inspect the Wiring:
    • Examine the wiring connected to the opener and the motion sensors. Look for any damaged or frayed wires. Replace or repair any damaged wiring.
  7. Check for Interference:
    • Nearby electronic devices or fluorescent lighting can sometimes interfere with the motion sensor operation. Try turning off or unplugging nearby devices to see if it affects the sensor lights.
  8. Update or Reinstall the Sensors:
    • If the sensors are older or have been in place for a long time, consider replacing them with new ones. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for installation.
  9. Contact LiftMaster Support:
    • If you've tried all of the above steps and the motion sensor lights still don't work, it's advisable to contact LiftMaster customer support or a certified LiftMaster technician for further assistance. There may be a more complex issue with the opener that requires professional diagnosis and repair.
Keep in mind that garage door opener systems can vary, so consult your owner's manual for specific instructions related to your model. Always prioritize safety when working with garage door openers and their components.

Chamberlain garage door will not close

If your garage door will not close from the open position and reverses immediately or part way down there is a safety beam problem, usually there is a safety light on the opener which will flash when the safety beam is activated or faulty. Clean the photo beams with a clean damp cloth, check if the door now operates, if it does not, check that the safety beams have not become misaligned, there is normally a light on one of the sensors that indicates when they are correctly aligned, if the light is on it means they are not aligned, the light off indicates they are aligned. If they are not aligned try adjusting them, if this does not work they are probably faulty.

When garage door is opening the safety sensors activate and starts closesing the garage door. They should activate when I close the garage door. How can I correct this action?

How do you know it is the sensors? Has this opener ever worked properly? Do the main lights flash 10 times when the door reverses? If the opener worked before have you had it apart or done some work to it?

My craftsman door opener light doesn't work I replaced the light bulb and still doesn't work tried pulling out the centre socket contact to no avail.

You have done all you can do if you are using a standard bulb. The light is controlled by a small relay on the logic board and that is probably bad.

Aux. lights do not go on when door opens

Unplug the opener from the power and take a small screwdriver and pry out on the center contact in the light sockets. There is always the chance the relay that controls the lights may be bad but this is the common fix.

Craftman Garaged Door Unit Stopped Working

This sounds like you will have to replace the logic board. Whether you repair or replace get a surge protector 900 joules or higher unless you want it to happen again. You can get replacement parts at searspartsdirect.com. Thanks BB

Garage door opener

Unplug the unit and look inside the socket. there is a copper lead you can bend up as it might not be getting a good contact. If that is not it you can start by replacing the socket itself from the manufacturer. If that does not do it then you will have to replace the logic board. Whether you reair or replace get a surge protector on this unit 900 joules or higher. Thanks BB
