Hi,

There is a possibility that you could experience problems down the line but if its still working properly and still loads from the hard drive then you are probably one of the lucky people that have got away with it.

Problems you could encounter later is the dreaded red ring of death which has nothing to do with the drop but rather bad design of the X-Clamp on Microsoft's part.

Main problems are E errors, Open Tray errors and sound but no video.

Regards.

Error code E68 Meaning?

his may mean that the Xbox 360 has a hardware problem

Solutions
To resolve the problem, try disconnecting your console's hard drive. Here's how:
Xbox 360 E console
  1. Turn off the console.
  2. Unplug all accessories connected to the front or back of the console.
  3. Position the console horizontally.
  4. On the right side of the console, locate the hard drive cover release near the back of the console.
  5. Slide the release diagonally (down and toward the front of the console) while pulling the hard drive door open.
  6. Pull the tab to remove the hard drive.
  7. Reconnect each accessory.
  8. Close the hard drive cover before turning the console back on.
If the problem persists with the hard drive removed, you will have to get the console repaired
If there is no red light around the power button, reattach your hard drive.
If the problem persists only with the hard drive attached, order a new Xbox 360 Hard Drive

Have just added a hard drive to my son's xbox360 but it isn't recognising it. what should i do?

sir i think the way how you added a hard drive on your xbox 360 is not correctly... try this instruction on how to add a hard drive on your xbox360...

The Xbox comes in two versions, one with a hard drive and one without. Enhance game play and speed by adding a hard drive to cache the game data during play. Adding a hard drive or swapping out the original for a larger drive is easy and gives you as much storage as you could ever want.
Difficulty:Moderately Easy Instructions

    • 1 Select a hard drive with enough space to hold all of the games and media you wish to carry with you. Look for drives with 7200-RPM specifications for faster speed when loading and caching games.
    • 2 Format the hard drive to FAT64 using the Windows format utility. Drives larger than 32 gigs will require third party formatting software although Windows 98 is capable of formatting up to 127 gig drives.
    • 3 Turn off the power and remove all cables, including the audio, video and controller cables. Lay the Xbox on its side with the front facing you. Look at the left side and pull the hard drive cover away from the console gently.
    • 4 Place the hard drive over the Xbox hard drive bay with the tapered end towards the front of the console and the connector end toward the bottom. Connect the cable carefully and verify no pins have bent.
    • 5 Align the hard drive slot with the back of the drive and set it into place until you hear a click. Press the cover on carefully and connect all of the cables. Turn the power on and verify the Xbox powers up properly.

I bought an xbox 360 lastnite for my son he puts the game in and when he goes to play the game it pops up... but it says you need to be connected to a hard drive how do i fix this problem??

Sorry, but many games require a hard drive. if you bought the 4 gig package, it didn't come with a hard drive just an internal memory unit. There is no way to circumvent this.

The harddrive is on top... the thing is kinda hidden its a oval shape... you press down on it.. then you pull up on the harddrive...(when the xbox is standing up the harddrive is on top)

On the left hand side of the console, or the top if it is standing upright, is a grey panel with holes through it, you can remove this panel and this is where the hard drive is inserted. You can purchase a hard drive from any xbox 360 games retailer or also online.

The front screen cover

The speaker cover just pulls off, there are 4 screws holding the screen on, take them out and the screen should lift off. But be careful, there are wires attached to it, so don't let it drop.

you have to first pull off the front faceplate. it will pop right off. then take the harddrive off. pop the two grey ends off. Now take the back and with a small flat screwdriver push it into the small slots till you here a click. do that all the way across the back. then do it to the front. there easier clips in the front. pull the bottom cover off. next take all out all of the screws. i believe T10 and T8 torx bits. then carefully flip it back over and take the top off. make sure you pry the cd drive button off first. Fom here you should be able to diagnose whats wrong or whatever you needed to do.

My xbox 360 disk draw keeps opening and wont let me play games?

My problem was the magnet that is supposed to be in the black rotator that the DVD is placed had come out and was sticking to the top of the DVD drive lid... I opened up the XBOX 360 by removing the hard drive on the top first then on the sides of the XBOS you will notice air holes but if you look closer looking from the front of the box on the right hand side you will notice there are more holes then the left and side. I will try to put everything in steps and hope you understand them

1 - Removed the hard drive from the top
2 - Starting from the back pushing a pen in the side holes on the right hand side to unclip the Gray cover
3 - Do the same on the bottom to remove that Gray cover as well.
4 - Unclip the front white face cover and remove it
5 - you will see 4 cover clips on the front holding both side of the case together "unclip them BUT don’t force apart" there is more on the back
6 - Unclip the back by pushing the pen point in all the 7 small holes in the back THEN you can pull the cases apart
7 - Remove 6 long screws from the bottom then take the othe side of, Unplug the cables from the back of the DVD drive and lift it out away from the XBOX
8 - Unscrew the 4 side screws of the DVD drive and take the top cover off.
9 - Take the magnet of the top cover from the white plastic
10 - Use some very good adhesive glue on the black rotator wheel (not to much) wait for the glue to part dry for 3 or so minutes then place the magnet in where it belongs
11 - Leave overnight to dry (don’t try and hurry the glue or you will be doing this again.
-- ** now revers all the steps from 6 till 1 to put everything back together ** --
Mine is fixed now and I hope this worked for you (I did get it working sometimes by just keep opening and closing the draw) but this fixed it for good and now all is working well again
