Hi,

If you are having problems with your gas dryer not heating the most common problem is that the ignitor goes bad. Even though it glows sometimes it is still not working properly.

if you dryer is gas check out this gas no heat tip....

If you have an electric dryer, you can have many different things that can go wrong causing the dryer not to heat.

I have a kitchen aid model keys777ezo and does not dry .. if I open the door and hold the door interlock closed and start the dryer I smell something like a heating coil but cannot see any glow from the...

This caused by one of two possible things. Either you have poor air flow, or a clogged vent preventing air from flowing freely and therefor making the dryer short cycle, which in turn will take you two or three times to dry yor clothes, or the heating element has gone bad, burnt in half and is making contact with the case to provide it just enough power to barely heat. The second thing is a very rare occurance. I would turn the dryer on, find out where the air vents out to, and with the dryer running, go to where it vents and check to see if there is a strong flow of air. 9 times out of 10 that is going to be your problem. Another way to check air flow is to just pull the vent off the back and let the dryer run and see if your clothes dry faster. If you do it that way and they still take a long time to dry, then you'll probably need to replace the heating element

Kitchen aid kgys750gq0 works but there is no heat

The KitchenAid KGYS750GQ0 is a gas dryer, so the solution of looking for a heating element is not helpful. There are several heat switches and a gas burner assembly (which includes a gas valve and an electric ignition), any of which could be the problem.

Kitchen aid kgys750gq0 works but there is no heat

your heat strip is possibly blown out.
This strip is located at the base of the dryer and looks like the inside of a toaster. These wires heat up your dryer to dry the clothes. If this element is burnt out the dryer will not heat. I would suggest having an appliance tech look at the dryer since some of the different types of heat strips need to have the thermal high limit switch replaced when the heat strip is replaced

My kitchen aid dryer does does not reach the higher temperatures it used to--it takes a much longer time to dry clothes.-even when set at "high"

Please clean the entire vent system from the dryer to the outside.
Make sure the vent is not smashed behind the dryer.

Long time to dry complaints are usually due to restricted house exhaust vents.

To test...Remove vent from dryer and operate dryer with a wet load if the unit dries ok the vent is @ fault.
If not one stage of the heat element could be burnt out.
