Any dealer in white-water canoes, and most others, will have kits with kevlar skid plates to install bow and stern for just this reason. Be sure to do this, and do a good job so you can keep water out of the laminated layers.

BTW: you can paint in with Tremclad!

Everytime I put the pre-sets for the timer, it does'nt keep time. COuld you assist me or provide me with someone who can repair?

I can assist you.
http://waterheatertimer.org/Tork-timers-and-manuals.html#8000

The 'pre-sets' are confusing.
Do you mean tabs or trippers?

Tork 8601 is a 60 minute cycle timer.
The dial should make 1 full revolution each 60 minutes.
Trippers or tabs located on dial are pushed up or down to set on-off schedule.

If dial is running slow, then clock motor has gone bad.
If dial is running on time, then trippers are worn down or timer parts are worn down.
Either case when timer stops functioning, buy a new timer for $110.
If the clock motor was available, you'd probably spend $60 for the motor.

Lights come on for two seconds then turn off

Check that wire is attached firmly to A and B terminals.
Check that outlet does not have loose wire.
Tripper might be worn down so it does not fully push the on-off lever.
Push tripper all the way down so it will contact the on-off lever.
Check that lights work with override switch.
If lights turn on-off with override, then set timer to ON, buy cheap plug-in timer, and plug power pack into cheap timer.

Generally, there is not good news if power pack stopped working.
Trippers can be replaced, but there are no repair parts for power packs.

Do you have the security system on your Dyna? What side of the bike hit the ground? I would start by looking at any obvious areas that received damage.

Does the engine start and run, or does it try to start, but won't keep running?

If you have the security system, it may need to be put on the computer at the H-D shop and be reprogramed. If the bike hit the ground hard, the module may need replaced.

If you received damage to the controls on the handle bars, I would check for wiring damage in that area.

Everything you mention as not working is electrical, and, if you have the security system, it all runs through there.

I find that the owners manual helps some, but sometimes it takes a phone call to a shop.

Flippers not functioning

be sure that the trippers you are using are for this specific model if you purchased them seperately.
if they are for your model then make sure they are fully seated so that they are engaging the switch. if you are using trippers you have had a long time the remove one go to your local store where you can buy the low voltage power pack. they should have additional trippers to go with your model examine the new trippers to make sure yours look the same and are not worn or broken. if all appears good then you may have a problem with the switch that is engaged by the trippers and the unit may need to be replaced.

I have the ML300RTW transformer. Just need to know about the trippers, one red and one black. Which one turns the system on and which one turns it off.

Here's how to check your power pack: Connect everything and set trippers randomly, and then manually rotate dial clockwise and watch when lights turn on-off, this will let you check if you have trippers set correctly.
As time passes, the dial rotates, and trippers push on-off lever that turns low-voltage lamps on-off.

If trippers no longer work, it's because trippers are worn down or the lever is worn out or the electrical contacts have burned. And the clock motors slow down and burn out.
There are no repair parts for low-voltage transformers. No trippers or timers.
"Harry" wrote to fixya with idea when timer no longer works: he bought cheap plug-in timer, set power pack to override, and then plugged power pack into cheap timer.

Since there are no repairs for low voltage transformers, I found tips that might save money:
The reason I add tips now, before power pack needs replacement is some fella wrote fixya.
He bought 500 Watt power pack to replace 300 Watt > thinking bigger was better.
Power pack burned out. Here's why:
a) Match wattage of bulbs with wattage of power pack
Lets say you have fifteen 20 watt bulbs = 300 watts, so install 300Watt power pack
b) Installing a 500W power pack on 300W of bulbs will burn out bulbs and power pack.
c) Replace bulbs as soon as they burn out or other bulbs will burn out and power pack will burn out.
d) When working on bulbs, unplug power pack or it may burn out.

The on/off lever on my t103r has worn down , and the timer dial posts no longer switch it on and off . can i replace that part . thank you , Don Henrichsen / Sherman Oaks , California

I think trippers have worn down.
Tripper are made of softer metal than on-off lever.
http://www.grainger.com/Grainger/INTERMATIC-Timer-Tripper-2E054?Pid=search
http://www.grainger.com/Grainger/timer-accessories/timers/electrical/ecatalog/N-8hi

That being said, if you have gone through several trippers and timer is old, then on-off lever can wear out.
Except for 125V clock motor and on-off trippers, there are no repair parts for T-103.
Buy new T103 and swap mechanisms without changing box.
That way you don't have to buy more expensive T-103R outdoor timer.
Mechanism snaps out with metal spring located at top inside box.

I purchased T-103 last week from Lowes.
Surprised that Lowes carried all 3 T-100 series timers:
T-101 125V with terminals A 1 2
T-103 125V with capability of controlling 120-or-240V circuits with terminals A 1 2 3 4
T-104 240V with terminals A 1 2 3 4

Not turning itself on and off. tigger are set clock is running. light are on 24 hours. model no T101 diana or shannon

1) The on-off tripper pins might be worn out. Buy new pins
http://www.grainger.com/Grainger/INTERMATIC-Timer-Tripper-2E054?Pid=search

Do you need new pins?
2) The manual override will click on and off with timer. Watch if manual lever is moving to OFF when timer is off ... and moving to ON when timer is on.

3) Timer might be worn out. Click manual override lever back and forth.

Is manual override loose? Or does it click crisp ON and OFF? This test would indicate general wear on timer. If manual override is loose or broken, the tripper pins may pass right over without tripping lever.

4) If manual override clicks on and off with timer, and lights stay on, then there might be a short between timer and lights.

Test for short to ground. Turn off power. Inside timer box, disconnect ground wire going to light. Do not disconnect ground wire unless power is off. Turn power back on. If lights are off, then the wire going to light is bad, or a light fixture is bad.

Caution. If there is a short, do NOT touch light fixture when power is on.

Repair any cracks or damage to the hull with fiberglass repair kits, available at most hardware stores. Use an overlay prior to the fiberglass if the area is bigger than a quarter so you don't develop a soft spot.
