Question about LG DLE2532W Electric Dryer

Open Question

Our LG Dryer Model DLE8377NM is not working every 4 or 5th time we try to use it. The outlet and the dryer cord have been checked and there is power to the machine. If we reset the circuit breaker to the dryer outlet the dryer will work again for 4 or 5 more times.

SOURCE: Electric Dryer

If your dryer came with a 4-prong plug, do not change it. For the very reasons you quoted with the article, you may screw up the 110v accessories required of your appliance (like the clock or digital display). It is best to change the household outlet to a 4-prong type. Just make sure your wiring is correct. You will need a neutral on the 4th leg, which means you will probably have to run new wiring from the outlet to the distribution panel.

Hello Sarah,

Check the power cord connections at the dryer terminal itself. You'll need to unplug the dryer, then remove the cover where the cord enters the dryer. It is very common for these to burn and break due to loose connections.

You say lint hose is disconnected. Are you referring to the exhaust vent to the outside? I would suspect this vent is clogged or a vent flapper outside may be stuck shut.

I have an lg dryer model dle2532w that comes on for four seconds, then shuts off, then comes on and repeats this cycle, i replaced the thermistor and it still does the same thing. Thanks! David

You have a power issue with the power cord or the plug but it's hard to determine because this is a 220v unit. You will need an electrician to check the plug outlet to make sure it's working properly.
Good luck

My dryer won't turn on what can i do?

Check house fuses or circuit breaker.
Ck. power cord and power outlet for signs of arching an replace if needed.
Ck. power cord at dryer side and make sure the ends are not burnt. Unplugged of course.

The following link explains how to properly wire a three or four prong 220VAC appliance:

Read through the link provided, and make sure you have the power cord wired correctly at the terminal block in the back of the dryer. Hello mdonettaYou said,
Dryer shut off towels were not yet dry, turned dial to restart dryer acts as if it isn't getting power I closed door and pushed start button. Nothing! Checked breakers and power cord at outlet all checked okay. Any ideas.

yes, try unplugging the power cord or turning off the breaker for 5 minutes. Either will due. Some times the system needs to be reset!
If this does not work there are internal fuses that can be replaced!

Let me know how it goes!
