Firstly, I would advice that you reset the router to the factory default settings. To restore the router configuration to factory defaults, hold the reset button on the unit for 30 seconds. The reset button should be at the back of the router. its a red button and you will see reset written under it, push the red button and the router should be reset.

Once your router is hard reset, you will need to login and reconfigure it again.

To reconfigure your router, connect a PC to one of it's Ethernet ports, load a web browser and go to the URL This will take you to a pop-up box which asks you to enter a user-name and password to Log-in to your router.

The default user-name is blank and the default password is "admin." Or both the default user-name and the default password are set to "admin." You can check your router manual to confirm the default password.

Once you have past the log-in screen, you are able to reconfigure the router. You can then to go to the management tab and change the administrator password to something else to keep others from accessing your router.
After changing the administrator password then you will need to enable WEP or WAP security so no one will tap into your network.

I hope this helps to solve your problem.

Good luck.

It stopped connecting to wireless!

Myra, The PS3 internal antenna when connected to the board, is only a thin protected wire, so it is not the greatest system for range for wifi. However, it would seem the issue you are having is not connecting to the wireless router, but the router to the internet. The PS3 asks after you enter a new connection, if you want to test it. I always do this test and it is valuable. At the top of the test screen, you will see "connection to router"-Pass/fail, then connecting to internet-Pass/fail, then connecting to PSN-pass/fail. Do you have other devices connected to the router you are using? If yes, then you have a more serious problem. If no, then you just have to access the router via PC and set up the correct settings to allow your PS3 to connect to the internet. There are several different routers out there, so you will have to consult the manufacturer to set it up. Just a few key notes here. If you are ok with anyone accessing your internet, simply don't password protect it. And also, make sure that the router is transmitting by making sure it is in"air"mode. If it's not airing the SSID, then no device will pick it up. ^^ I hope this helps, and good luck.

Pokemon black, i cant get the liberty pass, Error code: 51101 i try to do the first step instructed by the step booklet that comes with the game, and it says " No Compatible Access point in...

Error Code: 51101 Was this information helpful? The WEP key for the Access Point you are attempting to connect to has changed since you last connected.
What to do:
    • Errors ending in 0 = connection file 1
    • Errors ending in 1 = connection file 2
    • Errors ending in 2 = connection file 3
    • Errors ending in 3 = Nintendo Wi-Fi USB Connector
  • Verify the Access Point's WEP Key is entered correctly into the Nintendo DS. If your router has slots for more than one WEP key, the first (#1) must be the one selected on your router. If you need assistance, click here and select your router manufacturer and model number. If available, our router pages can provide specific steps and information that may help you with your router's WEP Key.
If you have multiple connection files saved to your Nintendo DS, the error message you received can help determine which connection file may be experiencing a problem:

If the above information does not work, and you are connecting at home with a wireless router, there could be settings on your router that need to be adjusted. Please click here for more information.

Got a new computer I forgot my log in to acess the router since it is protected how can get it reset?

Trouble Shooting Steps to by pass the login password

STEP 1: You can by pass this Screen by resetting the router for 30 seconds with the power cable alone connected to the router. You can find the reset button to the right side of the power connecter. And all the settings on the router will be lost and you need to reconfigure one by one again. That is the only solution for this problem

STEP 2: Then connect modem to the router using an ethernet cable one end of the cable on the actual modem and other end in the belkin router on the yellow slot or isolated slot called as "Connection to the Modem"

STEP 3: Then take a second ethernet cable and connect from the router wired slot in any like 1,2,3 or 4 and the other end of the same cable to the computer

STEP 4: And run the Setup CD o setup ur Router again

First you should know your internet service provider details like connection type

Connection type may be of Dynamic, Static and PPPoE

STEP 5: After setting connection type check whether the status is connected on the belkin screen on the right top corner and and if connected go ahead with the wireless settings like

Channel and SSID

Kindly refer the attached screenshot. Which will be more helpful for u.

Thanks and Regards,

We have netgear wireless router and are trying to connect my sons xbox to the wireless system, but cannot connect using the ip address from my computer. Not sure if i have the correct wep key and cannot...

Did you check your routers information right click on your LAN Connection, and then click 'Status' you should see a 'support button' now enter the Default gateway of the router,(In IE7 or higher or a diff browser) and then click in the username/pass of the router. (it's usually,admin/1234 (you may have inserted a different name/pass during setup on your windows machine.) now once you've logged onto the routers configuration page, look for the tab/button that says 'wireless.'

Wireless Configuration: Manual Wi-Fi Protected SetupSomthing like this should show up, on the browser, and then use that to find the Passphrase (mines a linksys router)

I bought the NETGEAR Wireless-G WGR614 v9 Router and i need to know how to either disable the wireless pertion or password protect it so only i can use it.

All you have to do is to open a internet window and go to the address and login with admin and pass with admin

After that all you have to do is go to security and set a wep or wpa encription and a key.

Do this connected by cable so you wont lose connection when the router reboots to apply changes.

After the router reboots, do a wifi scan and check if the connection is pass protected. test with the pass you gave and voilá, you got a secure connection.

Hope it helps, tell me if you need any more support.

How do i password protect my Router???

follow the steps below:

  1. Connect a computer to any one of the four LAN ports of the Belkin wireless router.
  2. Open your web browser and type the router IP address of the router (by default, the address is in the address bar and press Enter.
  3. Click Login on the top of the page to login to the router. By default the Password is left blank, click Submit.
  4. Click Security under Wireless menu.
  5. Under Security, you can select 64 bit WEP (or 128 bit WEP) or WPA/WPA2-personal (PSK). Note: make sure that your wireless computers will be able to support WPA encryption since not all wireless cards/adapters will be able to. if you're not sure, WEP is the encryption to use
Configuring WEP Encryption:

  1. 1. Select Key 1 and enter any 10 hexadecimal digits - any combination of 0-9, A-F (26 digits if you selected 128-bit as the encryption strength). You may also enter a pass phrase and have the router generate a key for you.
  2. 2. Apply the settings. Please write down the key – You will need it later to configure your wireless computers with the same key.
Configuring WPA-PSK Encryption:

  1. Select WPA2-PSK as your Authentication
  2. Select AES as the Encryption Technique.
  3. Enter a word or group of characters in the Password (PSK) box. The Pre-Shared Key must be 8 to 63 characters in length.
Note: The PSK (Pre-Shared Key) is case sensitive ("A" is different than "a")
  4. Click Apply changes to save the settings.
once you have enabled your wireless security, you need to reconnect your wireless computer to the wireless signal using your wireless password/network key.

hope this'll help you and just ask me if you'll have other concern
