Question about Apple Mac mini G4 Desktop
It sounds like your directory is corrupt, you need a 3rd party utility like DiskWarrior by prosoft. You boot from their disk, then run the program and it will write a new directory and you reboot and off you go, When you do updates do not do anything else as in rare cases it corrupts the hard drive, Apple stop you doing that at all in 10.5.
