The CMOS battery is located on the motherboard inside the AIO and looks like this >>>>

You will have to take apart the All in one to get to the battery.

What does "AIO" stand for? I'm having trouble finding the battery in my VAIO LV Series all-in-one. (VGC-LV290J) Any help would be appreciated. Sony claims the service manual is "out of production" and they've apparently never heard of PDF.

Sony vaio pcv 6603 driver

There are usually two numbers that Sony uses, one internally and one for martketing, If you look on your machine you should find a different number to search the support site for. In your case I think your other number is PCV-V1 and it is a European model, which isn't found on the US site. Here is a link to the UK site downloads and software for this machine
So the general advice is; go to the company's Support/Downloads/Drivers site for the country or region you purchased it in, and if one model number doesn't work, then look for another model number on your machine

I have a Sony PCV-W20 & I don't know which type of CMOS Battery it uses so I can replace it. Does anyone know what CMOS batter this desktop uses?

It uses a battery CR2032... You must remove the side panel and you should see the battery somewhere on the motherboard. It's the size of a quarter or so.. Let me know if this solved the problem and good luck..

Did you reformat the entire hard drive when you installed Vista? If you formatted the recovery partition you won't be able to go back without a Xp installation disc.

VAIO PCV-W20 PC Desktop I need to change the CMOS battery, how do I get the motherboard out so that I can replace the battery?

You shouldn't need to remove the board to change the battery.
Just to be sure, this is a desktop and not a laptop, right?
If so,remove the side panel,or open the case if it opens without panels coming off. You'll see the battery somewhere on the board,it's about the size of a quarter and will be a CR2032.Just remember which side goes in first.
