Question about Computers & Internet

1 Answer

Skype hi I am experiancing problems trying to download skype I have never tried to download anything before as I feel a bit computer illiterate!! Whenever I press the download skype box a box pops up asking if I want to run or save the file . I then click to run it, as soon as I do this another box pops up saying the publisher could not be verified and am I sure that I want to run this file, I again click run. then another box pops up it says c:/documentsandsettings etc underneath is what I presume is the document name and then at the end it says .exe is not a valid win32 application. I am not sure what I need to do to my computer in order to download skype and have a friend moving to aus that has it so if anyone can help I would be most greatfull. Thanks

That's ok..just run it, and ignore the publisher stuff..that's a MSoft issue..

it will work fine, once you are in

send me a note, through my skype ID to test it, after doing the test call

SOURCE: I have freestanding Series 8 dishwasher. Lately during the filling cycle water hammer is occurring. How can this be resolved

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

First, uninstall skype. Download and run Ccleaner, from Piriform.com. Clean registry as well. Download and install a fresh copy of Skype. Be sure you have all the drivers for your pc installed.

I can see the person but they cannot see me.

You need to make sure your web cam is working, to test it you can go to (in Skype) Tools > Options > video settings. If you get noting then its a problem with your webcam.

I have Pro 9000. When used on Skype, whenever I turn on the webcam, my computer crashes, the whole screen freezes up. Please hlep. Thanks.

If it only happens with Skype, try downloading and reinstalling the lastest Skype version. Also check the AV and firewall settings to make sure Skype has the right exception authorization.

It sounds like some files are corrupted. Have you checked you device manager? Is there any read or yellow alert in it? Feel free to visit digitalsupporttech for getting help.

I can't log into skype. I keep getting Disk I/O error message.

You need to delete the folder that holds your account information for Skype.
I can be found in: C:\Documents and Settings\<winuser>\Application Data\Skype\<skypename> for XP or, C:\Users\<winuser>\AppData\Roaming\Skype\<skypename> for Vista

I just deleted any user account folder I saw, reopened, logged in...worked fine.

Web cams and microphone

Hi, First I would suggest you get a Microsoft Life Cam VX-3000 as it will install the easiest and has a mic built in. Then I would suggest you and your family download SKYPE as it is FREE to talk on using the computer. It allows oyou to connect with several family members. Only have to pay if you telephone anyone from the computer using Skype.
So download SKYPE from this site: http://www.skype.com/intl/en/download/skype/windows/beta/
and follow these instruction to setup your voice/video.
Normal 0 After you install Skype and have it operational with you ID. Go to "TOOLS", click on "OPTIONS," Then go to "Audio Settings" and click on it. Make sure both the Microphone and Speaker's are correctly chosen. Then "make a free test call." Wait till the voice tells you to record. Then when finished talking wait for the test persons voice to insure your audio transmission is working. Then go back to options and test your video settings. Click on Video Settings and proceed to set up you video camera. Also, you can Visit this site for additional information to setup video.

Hope this helps. Bud
