We replaced the thermistor in our maytag dryer mde6700a but we are still getting the "ts" code. Any advice on what we should do now? Is there a way to reset the codes?

The code resets when the shorted thermistor issue is addressed. The thermistor is replaced therefore it is definitely not the issue now. The short circuit therefore lies either in the thermistor wire harness or the main control board terminals. Check it by measuring the resistance between the wires of the thermistor wire harness with a multimeter. Set the multimeter to its lowest Ohm scale setting (R X 1). If there's indeed a short circuit condition, recheck the resistance between the wires at the main control board side. Replace the wire harness should it confirm a short circuit condition. Otherwise, check the resistance between Pin #2 and Pin #6 of connector CN6 on the main control board. Replace the main control board if a short circuit is found.

Here is the picture/diagram of the main control board for your reference.

Code 5

Hi

The error is describing a tS code. It is an indication that the thermistor is shorted. The thermistor is the temperature sensing device used on this dryer. Before replacing the thermistor check for a clogged lint screen or dirty vent pipe.If these are clear and you are still getting the code the thermistor would need replaced, the resistance of the thermistor should be about 10K ohms at room temperature.

The thermistor is located on the blower housing in front of the motor.

I have a code poping up when i start the drying cyle the code is E5 but when it showes the code yhe top bar of the E dose not show so im guessing its an E

I believe you are describing a tS code.

If it is tS showing it is an indication that the termistor is shorted. The thermistor is the temperature sensing device used on this dryer.

Before replacing the themistor check for a clogged lint screen or dirty vent pipe.

If these are clear and you are still getting the code the thermistor would need replaced, the resistance of the thermistor should be about 10K ohms at room temperature.

The part number for the thermistor is 35001191 and is located on the blower housing in front of the motor.

I have model # MDE6700AYW (Maytag Neptune electric dryer) Error code T5, service codes 0, 19 and 76. Can anyone tell me what part needs to be replaced?

Check to see if your thermistor is bad by measure the resistance. It should be 10K Ohms at room temperature.
If it's bad, replace it BUT you have to CLEAR to error code.
1. Enter to Service Mode by press CHIME and TEMPERATURE keys for 3 seconds or until 3 beeps are heard.
2. Access Diagnostic Codes by pressing WRINKLE PREVENT. A d will be displayed. Rotate the CYCLE SELECTOR KNOB in either direction to read it.
3. Press SENSOR DRY and TIME keys for 3 seconds to clear it.
4. Power OFF to exit Service Mode
5. Power ON
Here is a link to the part in case you need it.

Dryer will not start get an error code that looks like a t5.

It is actually error code "tS" which stands for thermistor shorted. The control interprets it as an extremely low resistance which is a result of a the dryer overheating. Locate the thermistor on the blower housing and replace it. Click on the link below and refer to the parts diagram then look for item number 27(thermistor).

I have a Samsung Gas dryer DV337AGW/XAA. I have an error code that looks like a capital E with the top bar left off and 5. Went through the troubleshooting check list and no fix.

The error code is actually tS which means thermistor short circuit is sensed. The thermistor is located located on the blower housing and it requires the removal of the front panel to access it. Check for clogged lint screen and restricted vent system if the thermistor is found shorted or open then replace it.

Click on the link below on how to remove the front panel and get to the blower housing then locate and replace the thermistor with part number 35001191 or DC32-00007A.

Hello i got a maytag dryer model #mde6700ayw wont run and give me a code t5 what can ii do to fix that problem

I believe that your code is actually "tS" vs t5. TS is a shorted thermistor

From the repair manual.

tS = Dryer Thermistor Short Sensed

{The Thermistor resistance is very low}.

Check for:

- Clogged lint screen.

- Restricted vent system.

- Check Thermistor resistance.

- Check for diagnostic code 1

The thermistor is item 50 this link: PN 35001191
http://www.appliancepartspros.com/partsearch/model.aspx?model_id=5174648&diagram_id=28603393#d28603393

The thermistor has to be shorted to the chassis to get this code.
